Bought my PUJE "Classic" in the Fall of 2015 and totally love playing it. They have a unique character that is rare.

They all sounded nice to me but I’m really digging the breathiness of the Pujes!

Regarding the large vs smaller bores of the flugelhorns are you able to say what’s most different playing-wise? Does the larger bore require noticeably more air or tire you out faster?

Yes; the Puje's are very neat. The last 2 guys I know that liked my Puje vids did NOT keep their Puje's long though. They really are an in-between type of instrument; not cornet, not flugel, not trumpet...But elements of all three. To blend in a band, they may be a bit of a nightmare. But for a soloist or for doodling at home, they're very, very fun. I really enjoy mine. I've had it a couple of years maybe, and intend to keep it long term. Ditto for the Bach 182 flugel in this vid; it's not your standard flugel sound but I really enjoy it (not sure why, but I do), and I intend to keep it too. :)

All horns sounded great. But I agree with @kn that both PUJE’s have a unique sound that I am digging.

Very nice comparison and beautiful playing! I love your tone, so mellow!

Thank you very much, Piotr. A great horn and a great mouthpiece covers a lot of personal shortcomings. :) Contiued best wishes! :)

Jon Kellso uses a Puje, though he plays with a rather papery sound.

I've got the bronze bell Puje I use here; fantastic horn. A bit more open than I like, but a super horn. Excellent valves, slides and I absolutely LOVE the 'whole horn tuning slide' (it is ADDICTIVE). :) I've heard of Hon Kellso, I think, but not well acquainted. I had a second Puje here (which is now with a friend in Canada); it was a really nice player too. The Puje is a really fun horn to play. Probably, because of its build, not the best at blending in a section, but for a soloist it would be a hard horn to beat.
