Speilberg definitely did grow up in the 90s and continued on in that direction while still doing the odd kids film like the BFG.

what a fantastic group of directors they picked, because they all kept making names for themselves for decades after. Even with the duds like George Lucas, it really shows a lot about cinema, for good or bad.

I love that Spielberg pretty much said he'd never make an ET sequel because the story ended and was complete. Some movies don't need a sequel and shouldn't have one. Jaws shouldn't have had a sequel or sequels because they all just got worse and worse and tarnished the "Jaws" name, but that was early on in his career and he probably had no choice in the matter.
@STEVEHEROLD5 жыл бұрын
he had nothing to do with the Jaws sequels.

@@STEVEHEROLD True, but the studio probably had in the contract that sequels could be made, whereas with ET he had control.

How? They'r way different in style and cant be compared. Spielberg has made a comedy, drama, history, biography, war, Sci-fi, adventure, horor, action, romance, ect... Martin is great but he keeps in his comfort zone, mostly crime/drama movies ...Mean streets, Goodfellas, Casino, Taxi driver, Gangs of New York, ect Not many director can make movies in different genre.
@frozenbananas67267 жыл бұрын
as far as time, Ill give you that. Spielberg was a legend in the 70's / early 80's but hes lost a lot of steam in the past decade or so. Scorsese has never lost steam
