Watching videos of Gareth Bale always depresses me a little bit. Not because I don't like him(he's one of my favourite contemporary players) and definitely not because he's bad or overrated, but simply because this guy never lived up to his potential (yes I know that seems harsh given his stats but come on, we all know he was capable of much more). I really think that Bale at his best had equal or (i dare say) even more natural talent than CR7. His explosive speed, dribbling ability, consistency in shots/passing and aggression/bravery make him one of the most complete players ever in my opinion. It's just too bad Bale seems to have lost the passion and fire he once possessed as he aged. Ability-wise, he was definitely a like-for-like replacement for Cristiano, if not an upgrade. Just wish we got to see more of the drive and passion that Cristiano and a younger Bale had in him. I don't know how much longer his Madrid career will last but I really hope the guy steps up and bangs in a few more important goals to end on a high note. He is already a Real Madrid legend nonetheless. Long live the Welsh Wizard.
