Yeah they searched for a new drummer because Portnoy left, not because they wanted to replace him. This isn't an apt comparison, because if Portnoy wouldn't have left they wouldn't have done that. And let's be honest, Labrie isn't leaving and they aren't going to kick him out. Hell Portnoy wanted to back during early 2000's and it got shot down and caused the tension between him and Labrie had for so long.
