Pull Rite Super Glide Review 2021

A no nonsense, old school, non produced, no fluff, KZbin video just like the old days!! Here’s my take on the Pull Rite Super Glide hitch
1- The hitch cost $2,600.00 with mounting plate and the installation of bed mounted 7 pin electrical connection.
2- Capture plate was $141.00
Be sure that the rails on your Super Glide are sprayed with WD-40 every time you hitch up.
Update: 5 month review and the pullrite is still performing wonderfully. We learn a little more about the hitch on every trip we make. Highly recommend this product.

I have 43000 k on my hitch so far.Adjusted hitch two times in 3 yrs.Never had a problem in the operating of the hitch of any kind. I played 1190 canadain for the hitch 3 ys ago.I have probably sold 10 hitches talking to people on my travel.Cheers

We have the 2400 # model. Love it. The only down side is you must be 90 degrees to the hitch.

I've had mine now for 2 years and has performed very well. Its a little noisy but got used to it. You're right about the disconnect. I've had this hitch in a few peculiar situation and was able to get unhitched by removing the two pins on either side of the hitch and pulled the head off. I too have a SuperGlide and one thing I would like to point out which is a big safety issue is do not attach your breakaway cable to the same thing that is holding your trailer, if the head were to come off your trailer brakes would never come on. I attach mine to one of the tie-down rungs in the bed of the truck. My only 2 grips I have is always having to lube rails and just how heavy it is to take out, I have the super rails which are nice because then I have a clean bed just like the puck trucks. 2008 2500HD Duramax Silverado.

Thanks for the video, I just bought my first 5th wheel and decided on the Pullrite super glide, I’ve watched a ton of reviews. The one thing I noticed about yours compared to others, yours looks very dry (could just be the video quality) but others talked about lubing the slide rails and head unit with WD-40 before each use, maybe that could help with noise and the release mechanism. Thanks again for the video!

If you find your unable to unhitch due to uneven ground back up slightly to bring king pin back towards the cab. Make sure all wheels on the trailer are chocked. Now raise the trailer just enough to take the weight off the truck. Then pull the two pins locking the head of the hitch now raise the trailer and hitch plate just enough to clear. Now drive forward alittle and release the head and reassemble Don't forget the pins

Your capture plate falls off because you are missing a part.There isa white plastic block that sits at the end of the set screw that provides the friction to keep the capture plate in place. I have this hitch--it's a good one.

Quick question: I just ordered my 5w, and want to add a pin lock, but am concerned that the capture plate thickness reduces the height left on the pin such that a Proven industry lock won't fit? Any idea of the length of pin that is still sticking out?

Wrote a lot and deleted it. Short version. PullRite informed me when I had to buy new head, mine locked up at a 30 degree angle, that the rails and lock have to be lubed before every trip. Not fun to take off the head.

Head bolt needs to be greased occasionally. When you pull it out to grease it, make sure to clean the bolt thoroughly before applying new grease. As for the bars that the hitch slides on, you only need to use WD40 and spray it daily, when towing. Using grease on the 2 slide rails will cause them to accumulate dirt and cause damage. Hope that helps.

I purchased my first Pullrite in 2005 and it never once gave me any problems. In 2019 I retired it in still excellent condition - not exactly the definition of "junk"! Now I own a new SuperGlide in my 2019 F250 and it is awesome.

I’v owned my superglide model 3100 Pullrite for 5 years works great no problems!
