Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. I didn't know that I can open the neck area. It took me few hours to separate the neck (silver) from inner (white) part with o ring. There was some calcium build up. I sprayed some WD40 and keep pulling and twisting it. Two hours later, I was able to clean and lubricant the neck area. Without this video, I would have just bought a new unit. I was nice to save $100 and prolong the life of my faucet. Thank you, again.

Thanks, I wish I watched this before I replaced my dad's faucet, he was complaining that it was stiff to turn and I thought that he needed a new one. I just took apart and lubed the old one and now it turns nice and freely and is ready to use as a spare.

I have this exact faucet. 4 months old and it wouldn't swivel. Do yourself a favor for the next lubing, add lube to the handle stem, hex screw, and threaded cap. The valve body will pull away enough to clean the insides of top and bottom area where the "O" rings are and you're good to go for the next time. Don't skimp on the lube, you'll clean up the excess when it's back together. No WD-40 needed. Thanks for posting this.

Did you get it yet? I was going to say try some gloves. If you put a wrench on it you will scratch up the finish. They can really get stuck.

I gave up pulling on the neck after a while and ended up applying the silicone grease to the neck joints from the outside on the bottom and where I could on the top, and turning the neck back and forth to let the grease seep in. It got the stiff neck going… good enough for not having succeeded in popping the whole neck up. The rest of your video was spot on. 👍Thanks for the tip of not taking the set screw all the way out and the part about hand tightening from underneath the sink. 👍

Heres my experience with this kind of task, well I don't, zip zero nonya. but instead of get ripped off by your local plumber guy( thats (not applied to all because Ive had some really good ones that shot straight) I searched high and low no pun intended to repair my glacier bay single handle sprayer that wasnt turning very well. tighten it from below...didn't know that was an option. then broke down sprayer assembly put some silicone on the rings put back together and as golden as a golden retriever we have success. Is this a Glacier Bay faucet? I have one and the casing does not pop up even though I am pulling up really hard. I can detach the hangle easily as you described, but the casing is apparently stuck to the base. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to proceed?

Yes it is. Pull harder! Lol. They can get really stuck! Which is probably why it's stiff and won't turn in the first place.

My base plate has rust leakage and drains into the sink leaving a rust trail on the sink..do I need to take the plate out clean it and reseal it? I see you don't have silicon on the outside of your base plate..by following the instructions it stated that I needed to..when I installed it. Should I remove it?

Mine came with a rubber gasket that that plate sits on that acts as a sealant. It did not need silicone. I would probably remove that base plate and clean under it and see if you can find a replacement gasket.

Must be really calcified on there. Put a towel over it to protect the finish it and lightly tap with a hammer to break it loose??

My mom's faucet is exactly like the one you are showing. My problem is a little different. The entire portion of the base doesn't want to swivel from sink to sink. The ring is in place but the swivel portion doesn't want to move from sink to sink. The handle portion is also working properly. So my issue is a bit different. Help if you can explain to a plumbing clueless girl???

I would say there's a very solid chance it is just all gummed up with calcification under there from mineral deposits. Just needs removed, cleaned, and lubed up!

We have an older sink and faucet, I have no idea the age of either they were here when we moved in in July. The faucet is an old school, not goose neck, no sprayer faucet. It's stupid stiff, I found an older video with a faucet that looks like ours. I'm already planning on taking it apart and lubing it to save what's left of my sanity. The other problem we're having with it is that the base of the faucet moves with the faucet head. Do I just use silicone caulk to secure it? We might change out the kitchen cabinets next year, and if we don't, I'm changing the sink and faucet. I hate both so this would just be a fix until then. Thanks to anyone that can answer my question.

Tightening the nut under the counter that holds the faucet in place should help with that.

I have the problem where the handle will not go past the faucet when turned to the left. If I have the faucet directly facing me I have to turn the handle all the way back til it’s facing the wall to access cold water.
