The best part for me was you showed how to remove the crown ring. Moen sent me a new faucet body because my hose was not retracting enough and the receiving end at the top was very worn out. They thought replacing that would help with the second weight they sent. But no instructions on how to take this all apart to swap it out. You hit the jackpot! Thanks much Ron! You ROCK!!!🎸🕺🎺

Nice job, very helpful as I hadn't done this for a number of years. My corrosion and gunk was primarily at the bottom on the base, used vinegar and a brush to clean it up. Used lots of silicone lube to hopefully forestall new corrosion. I took the cartridge out, but it wasn't not necessary. I believe there is a lifetime warranty on these faucets, so if you registered with Moen, call, and they will send you the kit.

Very helpful video, Ron. Thank you very much! I have a couple of complications - First, I haven't positively identified my model and I can't find the documentation that I normally keep for household appliances and fixtures, so I don't know exactly which O-ring set to get, but that may not be an issue because I have sets of O-rings covering a wide range of applications. I can always measure the parts and order suitable rings online if necessary. Second, my pull-out sprayer has been stuck in place for at least a couple of years. I focused on getting that un-stuck after watching your video, because obviously you can't replace the lower O-ring without detaching the sprayer hose. Fortunately I was able to do that after about 2 hours of various chemicals, tools, and strong language. I'm confident that I can get the job done without breaking anything now. My Moen faucet still looks good and functions well after at least 15 years of service, and I would hate to have to spend $600+ to replace it because I screwed up.

Thanks, this helped me avoid a lot of unnecessary disassembly of the faucet. Unfortunately, despite having softened water, there was a significant amount of corrosion of the metal at the base of the “spout receptor.” Still, it moves back and forth much better after removing a lot of deposits and applying silicon grease.

This worked for me on my 7560. Seeing how to remove the crown ring, at 1:25 in the video was very useful. For me the symptom was not rotational tightness. It was that the faucet came loose from the countertop. But in reality that was happening because of this hard to rotate problem. It caused the entire faucet to rotate, and thus the nut holding to the countertop would loosen.
@IlonaMolotoka4 жыл бұрын
Mine was the same! I started with videos to fix the wobble when I realized this was actually the case. The hardest part for me was to get the faucet to separate, the buildup was like glue! Going to town with sand paper did the trick and definitely saved me money by restoring the 5 year old faucet (not sure the model, but the construction was the same).

Great video, however, I dunked the spout fully into white vinegar and left it overnight. The corrosion was dissolved and a few rubs with a green scouring pad shined things up! No need for the sand paper or Dremel tool. Use the plumbers grease and be careful using other greases that may cause the o-rings to swell. If the spout is over 5 years old, it might be a good idea to replace the o-rings while you are in there.

For anyone having trouble getting that crown ring back on ... Although this faucet looks just like mine, my crown ring is slightly different. The rubber o-ring goes around the outside of the ring (not the faucet body), and the open gap in the ring MUST be positioned towards the back of the faucet. I was EASILY able to set the crown ring using the cone to evenly press down on it, but the ring would not seat itself at all if its gap was facing anywhere but the back.

You make it look TOO easy! LOL It took me 10 mins. just to get my stuck set screw out. I still can't just lift my handle off like you did. Corrosion might be the problem, though this Moen is about as old as yours, only mine is white in color. I've tried rocking it and brute force pulling upward. I guess the next step is to "use a bigger hammer" or call a plumber. UPDATE: Before I used a towel and a hammer to try and loosen that faucet top lever for removal I decided I had nothing to lose by squirting in some Liquid Wrench into the hole where the (finally) removed set screw was and under the handle towards the middle of the faucet. I let it set a few minutes, wiped away the Liquid Wrench that had drained to the inside bottom of the faucet and then discovered the faucet would rotate a little! I nudged it back and forth in wider and wider arcs until it was much easier to rotate. Problem solved! I never could get that dang set screw back in, despite cleaning it and being patient. I guess I nudged the handle up about 1/32" by pulling up on it, and now it won't align for that screw to go back in. My "fix" might last 3 weeks, 3 years, or until we replace the entire sink faucet. Time will tell. BUT it just hit me, I used Liquid Wrench, a PETROLEUM LUBRICANT, which is a mistake Moen and other manufacturers warn about, that petroleum products eat away at rubber parts. So I can expect my rubber "O" rings inside the faucet to become degraded and for the faucet to start leaking. I have no way to just wipe it off since that spray lubricant is now inside the housing that I can't remove. I foresee a new faucet and a big plumber's bill in the future.(Sigh) So much for DIY.
@danosono3 жыл бұрын
I loosened the nut under the sink about 3/4 inch , lifted the faucet up that far with one hand and hit the plastic inner housing with the flat side of a hammer (with the other hand) just enough to break the plastic loose from the metal; then I was able to remove the metal as in the video. My reward is now I get to clean all that crusty debris inside the metal housing! I have it soaking in vinegar; hope there are no unintended consequences 00
@MikeUpie3 жыл бұрын
@@danosono Glad you had success. I have to report my faucet is still working fine after using that Liquid Wrench. I can HEAR the rubber (gasket?) inside the faucet squeaking some every time I move the handle, but it's not leaking after 9 months! Frankly, I'm amazed I didn't ruin it.

This EP is great and raw punk, but Overkill got even better when Felice Lococo got in the band shortly after this and they went more speed metal. "Triumph Of The Will" is a classic that should've been released about a year after this EP. The backing tracks were long finished, but then it got delayed by SST for almost 2 years because Merrill Ward blew his voice out while recording his vocals for this and also working with S.W.A. simultaneously and recording their only album. It took him a long time to get in good enough voice to finish TOTW. And to end any confusion, this Overkill is NOT the hair metal poser band from N.Y., this band is the ORIGINAL and better Overkill from L.A. This Overkill was forced to add "L.A." to their name not only to stop the confusion, but also because the east coast shitbag Overkill sic'ed their lawyers on them and threatened legal action.
