With the valve reliefs, would almost think it was a 396.

I have seen that on 396s as well. Turns out these are called Valve Shrouding and it is used to help with airflow coming in from the intake valve. It is a pretty good read and i am glad to see it was performed on this block.

That 4 bolt block is supposed to have a steel Crank, dot rods and forged dome pistons.

Full closed chamber heads, you couldn't have done better. Flat top pistons and open chamber heads don't build enough cylinder pressure.

I thought about making changes while i have it apart, but the work that was done was so good, i think i will leave it as is! I will be doing a lot of videos of this build and keep you guys posted. Thank you for the comment.

It's only the 300 horse engine with the flat top pistons and the small valve heads
