This past week has been my toughest week of the year and that's saying something... It has been a REALLY tough start to the year.
For anybody who will be watching this before pulling out their own stent i'm sorry.... This probably doesn't give you much hope! I am feeling much better now though and I finally feel like I am on the road to recovery.
Thank you for watching
Please subscribe if you haven't already!

Shout out to your partner for helping out!! Decades of dealing with similar issues and it never gets easier but someone to lean on is priceless. Let’s all remind ourselves how lucky we are to live in this age of modern medical marvels. Surely even a few decades to a hundred years or so ago kidney blockage/stone pain issues were, well…likely midevil for a lack of a better term. Keep fighting the good fight! Much Love from Cali ✌️

Thank you for sharing! I had the USR surgery and had stents left in and had the worst experience while in and even worse once taken out- also delayed sever pain after. No painkiller was doing anything and already took the strongest. They initially sent me without painkillers, even though I said I was in slot of pain! Pisses me off when they say most people are fine with stents, just a bit uncomfortable! I wish they would have it them selves! I know everyone reacts differently. But my body hates it! And the removal was even worse pain. After all that, they weren't even able to find the stone!! Which is why it was okay to remove the stent the next day, after the pain I was in. I can't believe you had to put up with for so long. I could barely talk, walk it eat. I hope things are better for you 💜

I take both mine out today… this process of having stents since march has been so depressing. The pain, the feeling of not being able to do as much as you use to. It’s just been a lot. I plan on doing a lifestyle change though. Especially within my diet. May not stop these stones from reoccurring. But it’s worth trying

Thank you for providing a video of stent removal from a female's perspective, as I have only found one other. I seem to be fortunate ... so far ... that the major pain I have from my stent is the burning when I pee. I tried peeing using a sitz bath and it burned just the same. Once I have peed, I am basically good until the next time I have to pee. It's Wednesday, and I have been told to take the stent out on Saturday morning. I'm not looking forward to it, as I'll be on my own but I guess I'll have to give it a go when the time comes. Incidentally, I found a page that said to drink 3-4 cups of water one hour before removing, take pain medication and an extra dose of Tamusolin (basically build up a good full bladder and begin to urinate as you pull out the stent) and remove it in the morning in the shower or bath. Hoping it goes well. Thanks again for your video and I hope your kidney stone problems are behind you.

I just got my stent today for me I can’t feel the stent but the string feels like they are cutting me with every movement and it might be with how red the blood still is and the only Brief relief is laying in bed completely still until my member moves and get extremely bad pain and I was also sent home with no pain killers and told just to take Tylenol and ibuprofen and am kinda in disbelief of having to be like this for 5 days

Hello Ella thank you for making this video. I just had a kidney stone removed and a stent twice because the first one came out the day after the procedure. The struggle with that stent is real. Thank you for the true ordeal that people go through with a stent and the operation. You hit the nail right on the head. It feels like you are peeing hot lava. In America they let the string hang that's why they come out so easily. The stent is worse than the stone itself if you ask me. I have been in and out of the ER since the day of the surgery. See if they can give you Dilaudid and toradol, those two meds help with my pain for the stone and stent. Today I rewatch your video because I am not in pain for the first time in two weeks and able to comment. Can I ask does it feel like your whole reproductive system is having a spasm that's the only way to describe besides someone trying to rip it out of you.. also there's this medicine here in America called flomax. It relaxes the urethra muscle to help pass the stone naturally. They also give us zofran for neuase. I hope I was able to provide you with ways to ease your pain and thank you for the honesty of this whole situation.

option to skip ahead to 11:57 in this video (placing TIMESTAMP here). I did a search, using KZbin search bar, of: how to remove ureteral stent with string at home One of the resulting videos I found, which was quite short (1:09 min.), had a Comment underneath it wherein the woman who was writing (and addressing it to other Ladies), said that a nurse had given her a suggestion for easier stent removal at home: Be urinating, with bladder relaxing as fully as you can in the process, while pulling on the string. It seems like that would be messy. However, it sounds like it might be worth it - to reduce pain and spasms which otherwise might happen (reduce one's bodily upset). Trade off: to clean up some urine mess (in the shower or bathtub, that is) rather than having pain or serious spasms resulting. Note: I have never tried this firsthand (i.e., done it myself). I'm just passing along this information in case it's useful to anyone else anticipating a personal removal of a ureteral stent -- with a string at home. I wonder why such advice is not more widely disseminated by doctors or other medical people? (If the technique works so well, that is.) Maybe liability concerns, or other fear based things, are taking precedence. The Y-tube video referenced, lasting just over 1 minute, has a female urologist speaking with an accent, in a very soft voice. It could lull some people to sleep, it seems.) I got more out of the Comment underneath, rather than from the video itself. Still, I am thankful she posted the video in the first place, and that the generous woman made the Comment underneath it.

had my stent out yesterday, thankfully, I didn’t experience much pain with the stent, only when urinating….I put it down to taking Tamsulosin, had it 2 weeks before the op and carried on taking it until Sunday, I’d definitely recommend to anyone with kidney stones to ask about taking that medication, and if you require a stent as for an F4.8 it’s diameter is smaller than the usual F6 stent that is used, and there’s some data for both tamsulosin and using an F4.8 to help reduce uretal/bladder pain….I couldn’t take my stent out, I looked at it for 2 hours, had to go into hospital, it was uncomfortable, but over in seconds….

I'm sorry that I've made you nervous! I have no idea what caused the pain but my best guess is that my body just hates stents. I think if you are not in pain with the stent then the pain after removal will likely be less?! Different bodies cope differently.. this was my experience but it might not be yours. 🤞 Also, removing it at home caused me more pain than ever, maybe the at home removal had something to do with it. I don't get how people can deal with stents without pain medication. I bad some bad stones over a month ago that caused a blockage, then a severe infection which led to a stent. It stayed in for 3 weeks when it was only supposed to be a few days. 2 days ago, they removed the Stent, removed the last stone, and put in another stent but with a string. Yesterday and the day before if felt like someone was cutting me everytime I peed and they sent me home without meds. They told me to just take azo and ibuprofen, which hasn't really helped. They said to remove this stent tomorrow, but I'm not sure I can deal with it much longer. Ugh. It's so difficult trying to run errands and take care of my kid like this. 😮‍💨
