On this day, September 9, 2013, I used my BCS 853 with the Aldo Biagioli Root Digger Plow as an attachment.
I pulled up two rows of spent, white plastic mulch, each about 75' in length. The used drip irrigation tape was removed at this time as well. All this plastic is #4 and is recycled. Used drip tape can be reused on the farm for various projects. For example: our chicken house is covered by a tarp, the tarp is held secure by drip tape stapled to the plywood sides of the house.
The process goes pretty quickly with the BCS and implement, about a quarter hour for the row.Following plastic removal, the soil is tilled lightly and a cover crop is planted for over-wintering.
