Pulling the Pin - Part II

In Pulling the Pin - Part I ( link: • Pulling the Pin - Part I ) we injected an abrasive concoction in the bottom end of the CP4 in our 2021 Ford F250. We then installed an S&S Gen2.1 CP4 Disaster Prevention Kit to test the effectiveness of our kit on a pump that is destined to fail.
Now our 2021 Ford F250 has laid down on us and it's time to see the damage, or lack there of, in Pulling the Pin - Part II.

I added a DPK to my 2011 about a month ago and has been working great. Your previous video "Is it Snake Oil" sold me on the kit, but this one topped off my decision.

Great video!!👍...just a couple of ?'s...1- besides replacing return filter, did you clean out the return line from pump to return filter or replaced?...2 - did you put on a new pump cam gear or just a new gear pin/keyway?

Thank you, and great question. In this instance, we replaced the CP4 with a DCR to further test/validate for 2020+ compatibility. We reused the gear since only the roll pin was damaged. A Disaster Prevention Kit is not needed with a DCR pump, so we removed it completely. The DCR also comes with new supply/return lines, so we did not reuse the stock supply/return lines. When replacing a CP4 with a CP4, it’s recommended to flush the return line and replace the filter. Technically, it is not needed, but it does prevent a false reading when using the return filter for future pump diagnostics.
