Brian, inre Bruce Willis' condition is a rollercoaster with a general downward trend. Also inre Mr. Willis, let me recommend "RED" (2010). all-star cast. funny. And some people like the sequel even more. I didn't, but it was still a lot of fun. Look at the cast. There is no way to make a sane budget for that much firepower unless they each loved the script. I hope that soon you will understand, "I never thought I'd ever say this again ... I am getting the PIG !!!"

When this came out Travolta hadn't been in anything for ages and his image was from Grease and Saturday Night Fever; musicals, disco ie he had no street cred. Casting him as a foul-mouthed gangster was so unexpected. The dance routine was like a casual little nod to his background.

There's a moment, when talking to Travolta, Eric Stoltz refers to something as being "dead as... dead". In the original script, it says "dead as disco". I like to think he changed it out of respect.

Mia snorted the heroin thinking it was cocaine, that´s why she had that overdose (heroin can be snorted as well, but the most common way it´s like Vincent did, using a needle. Also Mia was full of coke in that moment.). And Vincent goes a lot to the bath, due to he´s an heroin addict, and that provokes you, sometimes, constipation. Even the shot to Marvin´s face, it´s due to heroin, that also provokes you spasms.

When this was first released, I left the cinema thinking “that’s the best film I’ve ever seen” and the soundtrack was INCREDIBLE! I had never heard “Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon“ before hearing it in this movie, and something about it just had me obsessed! I went straight to a record store looking for it, but all they had was the original version, which was very different. I love this version by Urge Overkill. I never really thought too deeply about the lyrics until I was much older… they don’t exactly sit well… but from a purely subjective POV, the sound of it and the feelings it evokes in me (reminding me of the movie and of that era in my life) means I’ll always enjoy listening to it. I bought the soundtrack to the movie on CD as soon as I could, just to listen to that one particular song🤣 but to be honest I loved ALL of the tracks and I played that CD over and over, all through my university years and beyond. To this day, I even have a playlist on my phone called “Pulp Fiction” (I’m not sure if I should admit that or not😬!) as these songs are classics, I love them, I associate them with the movie and also that time in my life. I should probably rename my playlist to “Tarantino” or something, because I’ve added songs from his other movies, like “little green bag” from Reservoir Dogs and “cat people (putting out fire)” from Inglorious Basterds. His choice of music in his movies and certain songs for specific scenes, is absolute perfection👌 Just as I have listened to this soundtrack over and over for the last 30 years, I can watch the movie over and over and never get tired of it 👏

This film is probably why people your age know who John Travolta is. He had not played in a commercial success for quite some time. This film gave him a chance to demonstrate his comedic and serious chops to a new generation of directors and producers. His career had a second act because of this project. "Say goodnight Racquel" is a nod to George and Gracie Burns. A lovely couple and comedic duo of the golden age. George typically played the straight man to Gracie's ditzy comiedien. At the end of their show, George would tell her, " say goodnight Gracie " to which she would respond "Goodnight Gracie" I cannot do it justice in typing, have to see it for yourself

One comment just to help justify one thing in the movie. I've been to Belgium a few times on business, where they LOVE French fries (and they LOVE to smother them with mayo). I resisted trying it for a while, but finally did. I still prefer ketchup, but I have to say, what they call "mayonnaise" over there is a tangy, gourmet-flavored delicacy compared to the bland over-the-counter shit we get in stores here. So it's still not as good as ketchup, but it's WAY better than just dipping it in some Helman's from Walmart!)

Brother, if you’re fasting from solid food that’s fine. But, that drink you held up sort of defeats the purpose because of the amount of sugar in it. Depending on your reasons for fasting, just be aware that drinking all that sugar prevents your body from depleting its sugar reserves quicker thus delaying going into fat burning mode. Sugar is also what feeds cancer cells and pathogens in the blood.

I think this movie has a lot to do with why Sam Jackson is the best paid actor of all time. That man has a whole mountain of talent in him. Travolta's also underrated in this. The only scene that I'm not a fan of is the coffee scene with Quentin. It's funny, but think he wrote that because he wanted the world to see him shouting racial slurs and get away with it. He's not secretly a racist or something - I'm pretty confident that he's not. I think he was just pushing the envelope for no particularly good reason. I'm a white guy who grew up in Detroit. Most of my friends and people I've dated have been black. I never thought that gave me licence to start saying that word all the time. Most of them would have smacked the shit out of me, and they would have been right to do so. The whole "His wife is black so it's ok" implication that this movie tries to employ is kind of bullshit.

"You've got me in a vendetta kind of mood." I just love the way Tarantino writes dialogue. @michele36618 no need to be apologetic! well obviously not consuming food for over 2 or 3 days would be starvation, but fasting is a lack of food (and water in Islam) for extended hours of the day. In Islam, we fast between before sunrise and until sunset for a month straight. we can eat when it is dark out which is why we break our fast. I hope that gave some clarification!

I've fasted a few times four days, no food or water. No food isn't too bad. No water is tough. At some point, your body switches from burning food to burning fat. The body flushes toxins at that point. If you're toxic, you'll probably get headaches. After all that, you can get heightened awareness. Hunger makes you smarter, up to a point. Fasting before the hunt wasn't uncommon for old school humans.

So as amazing as the movie is with connecting everything this is my understanding of the actual theme of the movie The story is about second chances, right place right time and wrong place wrong time. Ultimately what Jules said, divine intervention. Everybody had an insane thing happen to them but with a chance to redeem themselves. Butch killed a man in attempt to rip off Mr Wallace. His divine intervention is he happened to catch Vincent slipping instead of the other way around when he went to get his watch. He took his second chance to repay it by going back to save Mr Wallace. That ties into Mr Wallace situation. He did a lot of bad things but his divine intervention was that butch came back to save him. He repaid it by letting butch go. Jules recognized his divine intervention immediately and he allowed Ringo and Yolanda to live and retired from the life. The only man who didn’t repay his divine intervention was Vincent and he was the only character who ended up dying. I’m so happy you reacted to this🔥

I would offer european mayo is probably very different from the american variety...🙂If you really want to see Travolta dance you must watch "Saturday Night Fever", he got a Best Actor Oscar nomination for it, he was 24. The movie is an accurate depiction of 70's (night) life in America, thought I'd point this out because I have seen the younger generation having trouble "handling" it. "Mr. Wolf" is Harvey keitel, it was his Hollywood "weight" that made it possible for Tarantino to do "Reservoir Dogs". He did his first movie Martin Scorcese's "Mean Streets" while he was still at his day job.The more you get to know about cinema the easier it will be for you to recognize Tarantino's influences, what I do admire about him is how deeply he knows and loves cinema.
