I love that from the angle it's shot, the bullet holes in the wall almost appear to be directly behind Jules and Vincent, as if they had passed straight through them. This scene is told from Jules' perspective, in his mind a genuine miracle happened that day.

Something rather dark about this scene that I feel like no one really notices - in this scene, there's 3 dead people - the guy on the couch, the guy in the chair, and the dude with the hand-cannon. Yet after they're shot, you never once see their dead bodies. It's like the film decides the characters don't even exist after they're dead, to the point you almost forget what the fuck that room must actually look like by the time they leave. It's a really interesting choice imo.

I think this was Quentin’s take on religion. He was showing how people convert to religion. Something absolutely crazy happens and people think it’s a miracle. In this case, the bullet holes were already there. I think that guy had a prop gun and didn’t know it. The film takes place in Hollywood, so it wouldn’t be crazy for someone to have a prop gun they got from a movie set. He shoots blanks, Jules and Vincent see bullet holes behind them and Jules is now “touched by God”.
