Nice haul. Ain't nothing in 2021 as cool as the old pulps. Love them.

Great collection. I have a comic collection, but in recent years I have added a few pulps to it. I love the cover art and they are fun to read. I have not needed to remove any labels from these, but I often use lighter fuel to take off unwanted labels off books. You soak the label with it and slowly and carefully try a corner. Once you peel up a corner, if it particularly stuck tight, you can then keep adding the fuel to the underside of the label while gently lifting it up. If you cannot get a corner up, then don’t force it. Leave it. The process may take a few goes.

Very nice collection!! I love these pulp magazines, I can't exactly say that I collect them, but I have about a dozen of them, some Startling, Super Science stories & Fantastic Adventures with some of my favorite covers. They're not very easy for me to get as I'm in Europe, so most of the time I have to settle for artbooks reprinting the covers. Most of the stories have been reprinted in paperback format, you should be able to find them for cheap & they'll be easier to read.

Sounds like we like the same types of pulps. I will have to look for some of those reprints. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate it!

Can you recommend an artbook which reproduces these covers?

Fantastic books. Great video. They look great. I promised myself I wouldn't go down the pulp trail last year, but I now own 29. 😎😎😎

Those are some fantastic pulp covers, Alex. I've thought about venturing into collecting them, but the brittle pages have scared me off thus far.
@AlextheComicHoarder4 жыл бұрын
Comic Mag Musings they are brittle for sure! I feel like if I handle them another corner is going to flake off. Which is too bad, because there are some really cool interior art pages and stories in these.

I am a pulp magazine collector., Alex. Thought you should know the authors names on those covers of STARTLING STORIES are the men and women from the Golden Age of Science Fiction. You have some really fine reading there, if you care to take the time. Also, the interior art should have the likes of Virgil Finlay, Hannes Bok, Boris Dolgov, just to name a few. Just from what I can tell from your video, even with the missing pieces from the covers, I would say the magazines are in good to very good condition. As long as the interior paper is not brittle, you should be happy with your haul.

Joel! I am LOVING pulps lately. I found a ton more recently too. Some of my recent videos have some amazing pulp finds. The video on my channel about antique shop finds recently are those books. Take a look. It’s mind blowing. I went back and found more recently, but all of the 30s and 40s pulps that I left behind were gone.

Love pulps but there are a ton in my sci-fi wheelhouse. They all end up looking the same to me and I would likely never read them. Very cool to see them in display. Thanks.

Nice pulps. I’m interested in these. They seem to have gone up a lot in price since the comic boom. I wonder how to actually price them.
