Wow, thats very impressive! At 1.38 kilometers a human is barely detectable with the naked eye, bet you couldnt see him in this dark weather at that distance! Thank you for testing❤

I couldn't even see him through a 105mm zoom camera lens until he waved his phone torch at me!

Advantage/disadvantage to the smoothing filter? I can't see a difference...

Smoothing filter is a bit like sensor amplification, in that it might help depending on the conditions and setting. It can be worth trying but on the day I found I got the best picture with the smoothing filter off and sensor amplification on Normal.
