Pulsar Paracontrol V2 Review - SPEED and CONTROL!

In this video i review the Pulsar Paracontrol V2 mousepad. I find it to be a really good alternative to the Artisan Hien if you are looking for a good balance between speed and control, and a smaller pricetag. It has become my new main especially with glass skates.

I have the aqua control 2 right now and enjoy it. Tried the razer gigantis v2 and didn't like it. Seems too fast in comparison unless you put heavy weight on it. Maybe try the paracontrol for the hell of it. Basically only play cod.

i bought qck heavy and its feels weird, is it better than qck edge? bcs it looks like it stayed in place too which is great! also great comparison there man!

I haven’t tried the edge, but i think the differences are that the edge has stitiching and the heavy is thicker. Cant say much about anything else, sorry!

How does this compare to a "Normal GCK Large" pad? I have been using this pad for 4-5 years and I wanna try an "upgrade" that is a little faster.

Sorry, I dont have a standard QCK. This could be a good option for you, but I would also suggest a Lethal Gaming Gear Saturn.

does it pick up hair a lot and is it easy to keep clean? can you test the parabreak v2? i can't decide which budget pad i should get. i got an mpc450 atm, but i would appreciate more stopping power. all i ever do in csgo is flick.

I haven’t had issues with hairs etc. I wipe it with a microfibre cloth once a week and it stays fairly clean. I don’t plan on reviewing the parabreak atm but I can vouch for the paracontrol v2 or lethal gaming gear saturn. Those would most likely suit your needs well!

The paracontrol has slightly more static and dynamic friction than the saturn, but is also more textured so you get more feedback from the skates. Saturn is really smooth surface with better quality overall and has very little static friction. But both are really great products!

Yeah I would say so. It has a good balance of static and dynamic friction for a hybrid pad. Qck+ is a lot slower cloth pad with non stitched edges. I’m not familiar with the md1a/b sadly.

@@jerrorr for me, the qck+ has a lot more dynamic friction but just a little bit more static, also it's way smoother and has 0 tuck, the paracontrol has alot of tuck on direction changes, for me that feels hindering and annoying, so the qck feels more free haha

This is like 10 euros now where I live for the large version so I ordered one just to see how it compares to a regular QcK. My guess is that I'm gonna feel that it has too little dynamic friction, control and stopping power since the QcK is pretty close to what one would call a "mud pad". I wonder though if the colors differ or if they're all the same? I went with a red one.

Daaamn 10€ is a reaally good price! It’s not a crazy fast pad and surely you will get used to it. I don’t think the colors differ so much from each other, especially the red one. Usually its the black one that differs a little from the other colors with other pads at least.

@@jerrorr This was interesting! I just got the pad. It's actually slower and more of a mud pad than my QcK. The QcK is maybe 2-3 months old. Static friction just feels higher when starting to move the mouse on the pad but in fact it isn't. That's the main benefit. Small adjustments are easier, yet in motion, small adjustments they feel slightly "heavier" to make due to the fabric. The whole mouse (viper mini) feels heavier on this fabric compared to cloth. However... What was my strenght before, and especially against players on hybrid pads was my fast swipes and flicks. These feels to heavy to make as quick as before. It isn't as effortless. Buuut I still play pretty well on this one. Not as good on the QcK as a whole. But for just have switched, it's probably the best non QcK pad I've tried. But it's also the first hybrid I've ever tried so that maybe doesn't tell too much. All other cloth pads I've tried have been to fast or lacked dynimic friction and stopping power. I use fingertip grip, play only Quake Champions and uses 1,17 sens on 1600dpi on 120 fov. So fairly high sens. This pad almost want me to go even higher on the sens since the dynimic friction is higher than the QcK. An upside also is that I guess this fabric is more consistent over time and with humidity. But the edges is a downside since I ussually only use the lower corner of the pad and resting the back of my palm against the table top rather than on the mousepad itself. I do however feel the pad will wear the skates down faster than on a cloth pad. I do use the stock skates so... Maybe I should try glass on this one? If I'd like a pad with about the same amount of stopping power but with slightly less dynamic friction or slightly faster... Do you have any suggestions for that?

So here’s the thing. Stopping power and dynamic friction are representing the same thing, as in how controlled the glide is = easier to stop the mouse. If you mean a pad with similar amounts of static friction and slightly less dynamic friction you could try some pads from Xraypad like the Zero. Also the Artisan Zero would propably suit you needs well.

Hello again! Sorry for spamming. I ordered another viper mini today to mod since I like to give this pad a fair chance. I tried my xtrfy m8 and m4 or this pad and still think it's too slow. Even when I do this "push test" with the xtrfy m4 it seems to be stiopping as soon as I let it go, while it looks like yours have a slightly better glide? That's a bit weird. Well... I wonder what type of glides you recommend for this pad? I'm thinking of ordering SUPERGLIDE Glass Skates. Is it what you use with this pad?

No problem! Yeah it might be also humidity difference etc. I used superglides on the Xlite v2 mini with this, but I don’t really recommend superglides to anyone. If you are interested, go check out my reviews of both the superglide v1 and v2 skates. I can’t do any more scientific test on this pad like I’ve done on the other pads I’ve tested after this, since I gave this pad already to a friend.

Bro, you dont understand, iv been looking for a mousepad upgrade from the steelseries qck heavy for half a year, and no site i visit ships to the uk, and the ones that do quadruple the price to something ridiculous. Im ashamed to be the one to beg, but is it possible at all for you to ship me literally any mousepad even morally better than the steelseries qck heavy? If not do you know any cheap websites for mousepads that ship to the UK, would be a big help, ill appreciate any help. :)

@@Lumfii You mean it did not come flat out of the box? You could a) give it time so it settles down by itself, b) put a towel on top and iron on veery low heat, or c) try to roll it carefully to the "wrong way" so to speak. Hope it helps!

I understand 😂 I briefly searched comparisons from r/mousepadreview and it seems that most people prefer the Paracontrol over the Parabrake. It is in my opinion a nicely balanced pad and offers a good bang for your buck.

How do you flatten the corners?

It will flatten out by itself eventually, but you can put a towel on top and iron it with a low heat, or carefully roll it with the surface inside so it flattens. Hope it helps!

Yeah I am! Currently I’m testing the Vancer Ice for my next review but on days I don’t want to go that fast I use the paracontrol. It is just so comfortable and consistent for me

I have not noticed any problem with humidity so far, and boy it was humid on some days this summer. Literally over 65% 😂

I have not tried the AC+ and something being better is subjective, but compared to the AC2 Sakura (which is apparently faster and rougher than AC+) I prefer the pulsar pad. It stays in place better, stitching is more comfortable and surface is smoother. AC+ and AC2 are different products though so this comparison is probably useless :D
