The pulsar has a shorter stroke and is liquid cooled.. It revs higher , has a slightly higher compression ratio and hence more power (24.5PS at 9750 rpm),, the Hero has just an oil cooler and a slightly longer stroke,, less revs,, less power but max torque comes in earlier at 6500 rpm compared to the Pulsar at 8000 rpm.. For in town traffic and cruising at 80kph the Hero is adequate but if you want to stay above 100 kph the pulsar with its 6. gear and more power is better..
