Another nice video tutorial addition Alec!! Regards, Marty.

Thanks Marty. I was hoping to go detecting today but its only 28F.

Hello there, I will try to remember to include a demonstration when I do my next video. Are you working on a project? If so, which detector?

Great video and explanation, now we need to see it in action on your scope, then i can build mine and use my newly acquired scope and set up my new coil i built, no hurry though Alec

Hello I have felezjoo pi dedector own made, and I want to build dd coil with this system. Will it work?
@SurfDetector3 жыл бұрын
Looking at the schematic I think that you should use a mono coil.

Can I use spider coil as monocoil
@Sivispacemparabellum9x193 жыл бұрын
I am looking for big amount of metal in deep range, should I make 20" spider coil?
@SurfDetector3 жыл бұрын
You can certainly make a spider coil as it is a mono. What size you make is something that you need to experiment with. I have not built a Felezjoo so I do not know its capabilities to be able to tell you if it is meant to be a deep detector such as a Delta Pulse.

Does the potentiometer used for testing have to be of appropriate power? Can a small adjustable resistor be used?
@SurfDetector2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend at least .25 watt (1/4) This is not designed to stay as a permanent part of your circuit. It is only for testing.

When you use this for voodoo you hook up one side to the positive on the tx loop the other to the negative side of the loop then you hook up the hook of the probe to the positive side ? and the alligator clip on the prob goes where ? Thanks
@SurfDetector3 жыл бұрын
The ground clip on the oscilloscope probe in the Voodoo project gets connected to +12V battery which is the ground reference for that project. As I stated on the Geotech Forum, if you have not already read the book that George wrote for the Voodoo, then you should do so as it contains most of the information necessary. When using the damping jig the actual probe connects to the output of the pre-amp.

@@SurfDetector ok what was the green and yellow wires you had going into the tx coil output ?
@SurfDetector3 жыл бұрын
What video are you referencing? Without knowing that I cannot answer your question. It makes things less confusing when questions pertaining to a certain video are attached to the video in question. Cheers

@@SurfDetector the damping video that shows the resistors on the pcb at the start you have 4 wires coming out of the tx and Rx output a blue a green and yellow
@SurfDetector3 жыл бұрын
So what you are referencing is not one of my Damping Resistor videos, rather it is "Voodoo DIY metal detector Part #4 Flyback signal and PI Pre amp output" On the Voodoo the damping jig is attached across PL1. The wires that you are asking about on PL1 are Green(ground reference) and Blue these are for the PI portion of the circuit going to the coil. On PL2 are another green(ground reference) and a yellow, these are for the Disc portion going to the coil.

Pot should not be wire pot, cause it ad inductance to circuit and as result measured damping resistor will be false.
@SurfDetector3 жыл бұрын
Welcome and thank you for watching and commenting. I see little difference using the wirewound pot as compared to a carbon or cermet or conductive plastic pot. The resulting values tell the story when viewed on the oscilloscope. Thank you again for the comment.

So the low point is 199 and the high point is 1678... what is the value of the damping resistor we need..? To Google what exactly?
@SurfDetector2 жыл бұрын
As I told you previously, you should be using a oscilloscope to view the preamp output in order to choose the value
@RadioActiveDonats2 жыл бұрын
@@SurfDetector Thank you. So I have made the Damping resistor Jig exactly like yours and I have connected the coil to the detector. Now you have two cables coming out of your Jig black and purple. Black connect's to one of the coils wire and purple to the other ( parallel) Turn the detector on and find the finest point with the Jig on the oscilloscope. Disconnect and measure the Jig with my resistor meter. Is that correct?
@SurfDetector2 жыл бұрын
yes the jig goes in parallel with the coil. What detector are you making?

@@RadioActiveDonats If that board is already made then it will already have a damping resistor, you might need to change it.
