This synth clip series is turning into a solid synth education. I watch every one, and ya sometimes i have opinions about things regarding the gear. Like today, it all seems to be coming together due to your choice of demo synths in all the videos: every video featuring an analog and a digital synth illustrates just how rich sounding the analogs are. I have basically all digital synths, but that is going to change. If I were to order a DSI prophet module for my ambient and soundscape projects, which one would be your recommendation? I have watched many videos and my head is spinning. I'm thinking about asking starsky-carr the same question. (other readers feel free to add your thoughts)

Behringers deepmind12 is an astounding deal for a level of analog this intense. It’s modulation possibilities and fx that are completely open to modulation put it above many others that are much more expensive in my opinion.

@@graxjpg thx for that solid recommendation. Since I am spoiled by my digital control and saving patches, but i want the analog sound dimension, I do have the 12D and the typhon next up on my radar(also waiting for the UB-xa lol). I started with an UNO and a microfreak, so ya 12D and typhon are like that too and affordable. I love all the DSI and i'm trying to determine which one will suit me best because that will be a chunk of change that i can only do once so i want all the feedback and videos i can get.

I need to recreate the sound of Won't Be Fooled Again on a Hydrasynth Explorer..... I have been frustrated with not getting the pulsing effect no matter what I do.... obviously I am doing something wrong because I feel it should be possible with a Hydrasynth

Hi Barry. Use a Square Wave LFO to modulate Amp. *Don't forget to turn the Amp level down so that the Square Wave LFO can alternate between full on and silence.* Then use a slower Triangle Wave LFO to modulate the Cutoff Frequency of 4-Pole Lowpass Filter with some Resonance. -_Daniel_

Does anyone know what the first synth was that could modulate pulse width? I'm aware the minimoog had pre set width options but can't find the first modulatable.

grant jonsn nope. 38 I hear that low pitched PWM on the square and it sounds like a good reese bass as well. That’s just the first thing that came to my mind when I heard it.

Gerald Good III ahh, you’re just barely not a youngster. PWM always reminds me of the NES, or arcade games.
