Horten H IX V3 RC Scale Impeller

Sehr Schönes Modell des Horten H IX (auch: Ho 229) Nurflüglers auf dem Modellflugtag in Bad Wörishofen.Die durchsichtigen Röhren an den Düsen des Impellers sind laut des Erbauers notwendig, da das Modell sonst unstabil im Flugverhalten wäre.
Der Horten Nurflügler ist ein bekanntes Projekt des 3.Reiches. Es wurde nur ein flugfähiger motorisierter Prototyp gebaut und ein unmotorisierter Segler zur Erprobung des Profils. Diverse weitere befanden sich in der Bauphase. Dadurch, dass nur wenige Flüge mit dem Prototyp durchgeführt wurden (Erstflug 2. Februar 1945) ranken sich zahlreiche Mythen um das Flugzeug. Very nice model of the Horten H IX (also: Ho 229) flying wing. The transparent tubes at the nozzles of the impeller are necessary, according to the builder, otherwise the model would be unstable in flight.
The Horten flying wing is a well known project of 3.Reich. It was only one flyable prototype built motorized and non-motorized gliders to test the profile. Various other were in the construction phase. The fact that only few flights were done with the prototype (first flight February 2, 1945) is the reason for many myths around the aircraft. The spitfire’s turning circle was a lot smaller and the speed difference wasn’t enough to out run the spit’s rate of fire I’m afraid Very much a one sided fight , but it would be interesting to imagine what would win between a spit and a mosquito

Schönes Model , sieht allerdings so aus das die Impeller viel zu weit vorne sitzen und damit in dem Rohrkanal nach hinten zuviel Turbulenzen entstehen , die nach hinten austretende Luft verwirbelt (wie eine Spirale)sowie die Luft über dem Flügel und daher die Stabilitäts Probleme. Des weitern sieht es so das er keinen Stator hat , einfach mal den Austritt des Jumo Triebwerkes nachgebaut , da die Austritt Düse den Querschnitt verringert und dahinter Staudruck entsteht die austretende Luft wird daher beschleunigt (Venturi Prinzip) und die dahinter sich stauende Luft angesaugt wird das dürfte die Verwirbelnden am Austritt erheblich verringern.

Wozu die Röhren an den Triebwerken? Gegen Überschlagen (Tucken)? Schade, dass die offenbar nötig sind zum Fliegen, denn schöner sähe es natürlich ohne aus. Trotzdem: tolles Modell und schön gesteuert!

Tubing is for flight stability.
