Great video, thanks. I'd be very interested to hear what you think the best current portable pump is: in particular, how does this pump compare to say the new baby Buddha 2.0 ? Or are there are any other very good portable pumps you'd recommend? Thanks :)

There is no one best pump for everyone! I have a handful of portables I love that prove to be high quality and good performers- BabyBuddha and Genie Advanced are my top two though hands down! It's more of matching a mom to the pump than one being better than the other!

I can’t get this pump to work for me either . My primary pump is S1 from spectra ( and that is the main reason I bought PGA ). I live in the uk and recently found out that here spectra has 5 cycle speeds in the stimulation mode between 70 and 105 ( appears on the pump c1 to c5 ) . Of course I was using C5 for stimulation and find very difficult to get a letdown with PGA so far .

The UK Spectra S1 is very different than the one we have here in the US. I can't get my hands on the UK version to test so I don't have an easy way to compare them. I would try moving to the 70 cycles per minute setting and matching suction based on the feel to help you adjust.

I really like how the liquid shield flanges feel; I’m planning on using the PGA on the weekends when I’m home running around with my toddler so am interested in having collection cups as an option for when I need to be able to move around without flanges getting in the way. Any suggestion for which collection cup might feel most like the liquid shield flanges and pair well with the pga?

@@genuinelactation I like the soft squishy feel to them, they feel really comfortable. I like how they “hug” the nipple; in my mind, it seems like this means it’s such a close fit so it will get out every possible drop of milk. Even if that’s not actually true, mentally it helps me feel like I’m accomplishing something good :).

@@kaitlinl5648 try BabyBuddha cups with a BabyBuddha or Genie Advance Motor with legendairy inserts- its the closest to that I've ever found.

Thank you for the great and in depth video. I use high cycle (54) & higher suction (8-10) and I don’t think this would be a good fit for me based on your review. Is there an issue with using high cycle and high suction - it seemed that you alluded that this may be an issue?

Not an issue but a challenge with a lot of portables! What we do in cases like yours to maximize cycle speeds and suction is check what hacks pair well with your anatomy and the pump you are looking at to elevate the suction while maintaining the higher speeds. It gets tricky but we can typically come up with a solution!

Although, I want the new baby buddah!!! Since it’s so new I have to request to my insurance directly from the company and need a prescription. While I wait for that! Which one would you say it’s your absolute favorite and why? This one or Zomee Z2? I have super sensitive skin and nipples and really low pumping output which is why I want a portable pump. I think if I can put the pump on and go about other things that might help me relax and forget about it and not feel time constraint.

Can I check is there any difference between the genie advanced and the old milk genie?

They are not the same pump- the Milk Genie was not as effective as the Genie Advanced.

No wonder.. the one I got 2nd hand to try did not feel the same as spectra.. haha..

That has much faster cycle speeds- but the key would be figuring out why you aren't responding to either correct it or determine a better choice
