What do you do about the vine borer?

I spray permethrin. Works pretty good, have to make sure you cover the whole plant especially the vine. If you just spray quickly from above, still get like 30-40-% of your plants with borers

I used black plastic for a few years. This year switched to white plastic. I think it made a big difference. Biggest germination we have ever had.

I've just started using plastic this year and I'm using black. been having a lot of issues with transplants getting burnt from I think the heat. bottom of the stem near the plastic just collapses and dries up. You think he white would help with that?

@@chevy1221 with the white I feel the heat isn’t quite as intense. I laid over 7000 feet of white. I laid the same amount last year. It was hot last year also. We are using a water wheel and dropping seeds. I won’t switch back to black
