Having loved the original solo piano version of this piece for so long, I was always struck by the playfulness and folk-like quality of the melody. How incredibly fitting that this amazing ensemble came up with an arrangement of the same piece that spreads that melodic and rhythmic vitality among five different acoustic instruments. This is beyond brilliant, and I am certain Debussy himself would have loved this interpretation as it beautifully captures the rustic nature of his composition. I would LOVE to hear Chris and the boys tackle the other three movements of this suite including the timeless Clair de Lune. Oh to dream.....

Wow. I've never seen them live but I've seen numerous videos. They can't be pigeon holed, you just never know what they'll do next or what they're capable of doing because their talents seem boundless. This piece was off the charts brilliant.

So amazing. I love their interpretations of classical, baroque, and in this case, impressionist composers. Interesting in the intro he said "[Debussy] who sadly couldn't be here tonight" - this video was posted almost 100 years to the day of Debussy's death.
