I always thought the right side of the punch needle project was the side with the loops. Like if you were to frame the punch needle finished product the side that was the front that you see is the loopy side. Does it matter what side is considered the front? I am so curious what the backside of your projects look like lol

@Wozzle Wizzle So, if you want to use the flat side, what would you use to make sure the floss doesn't come loose and pull out of the fabric? I started to embroider denim jackets, and am wondering how I could do that with a punch needle, but would need to secure the backside

@@Highlikeheaven89 I think it's purely decorative, wouldn't hold up well in the wash. I have seen people use mod podge for embroidery backing, but you'd still end up with a lot of thread on the back of the fabric.

@Wozzle Wizzle if it's thread, it will stay on your fabric. But if it's wool, you should use pva glue for the flat side.

Can't see a reply. I found videos by Studio Versie very informative. She uses a Lavor punch needle. The smaller needles in the set of 3 can be used with up to 6 threads. Hope this helps.

Priyanka Jain I don’t know but I’m assuming if you’re not embroidering clothes or something that’s going to move then it’s fine cuz it will be left in the hoop as decoration and not be touched making it come out. You could maybe glue a fabric to the back (just an idea that might work in theory not sure about realistically though lol)

How did you even got the thread inside the needle? The threader doesn' / can't even go through especially with the # 10, and 12

If you squeeze the tip of the threader (you can use pliers, or sometimes I bite the ends of mine) it’ll be small enough to fit through, you just have to push the threader through quite hard

You can purchase them on eBay or Amazon under “Punch Needle set” or something similar. They’re pretty cheap as well. I purchased the same needles for $3 on eBay. They usually come packaged as a set of 5 needles, the handle and a threader in a plastic storage tube.
