Very nice fight. That's the first time I've ever seen Mike Tyson get KO'd in this game. Everyone else always names their videos "KO" when really it's a TKO. Good job man.

I always had more trouble with Super Macho Man than Tyson. I could never dodge his spinning punch.

Its honestly not that hard after about 40 attempts. You just gotta get the dodge timing memorized. At least thats my way. Its very hard until ya get it down though. Mr sandman is the second hardest in my opinion. Excellent game. Very addictive.

I dunno, I mean it is subjective I guess... I thought Super Macho Man was the hardest other than Tyson. It was so hard to tell how long or short he would wait to swing in his 'super' moments. Mr. Sandman was like a Bald Bull x 50 though, dude could be pretty rough.

He just wanted to get more points. However, this fight has to have been done with some tool, I can garantee it. No human would be so opportunist and not hesitant facing a boss that can change his plans so often and so randomly in each fight, believe me. This fight is too perfect. However, it is still funny to watch. ;)

Considering the noise it makes when Tyson gets knocked down, it's definitely done on an emulator. So it is possible that there was a tool assist, but hard to tell for me. I do agree with your analysis about being hesitant. This boss is pure randomness. After doing several attempts in a save state to see if I could replicate the conditions for KO, I found that Tyson/Dream's patterns are totally random. Hell, I even KO'd him with less than 10,000 points and a less than perfect fight. Later, I went back and couldn't get the KO on a perfect fight with over 10,000 points, lol!. I'm not going to say the player used a tool, but you bring up valid points that need to be addressed.

I always just assumed he was made unbeatable in the game. Turns out I just didn't know a few key tricks that made the difference between hits doing miniscule (or no) damage and being pretty effective...

When I was little I used to play this on NES but now I just play it on emulator because the cartridges can't give me grief. I still play with friends except it isn't always Nintendo. And yeah, waiting until school ended so I could play was nerve wracking. Thankfully Game Boy happened so I could play in school - oh wait, that was in the superior 90's. Sorry to hear about your 80's!

@NewYorkS4U I instead assume Nintendo didn't actually ask Tyson to be featured in the Wii version. His reputation nowadays is far from spotless. When Mike Tyson's Punch Out came out, it was before all the controversies.

Man do you know what factors make it a KO? I've done it with as little as 10,000 points. I've practiced much with a save state in the 3rd round. Mike Tyson been have KO in as little as 1:14 in 3rd round. It seems almost random to me. I've even KO'd him when the last punch isn't a super punch. Any info?

I daresay you're still not waiting for the answer after 9 years... but 2 knockdowns in each round is all you need. Then it's random chance on the 6th knockdown unless you're at full health, then it's guaranteed.

You can't get the number of necessary knockdowns to KO him in the 2nd. You have to knock him down twice in the first and second rounds and then carry him into the third like the poster of this video did. I have done this sort of technique to get the KO but was never successful--my guess is that you have to get a high point total from star hits and uppercuts like Hex did. AWESOME VIDEO... Kudos.

This is not fake. You can tell the player just has really good reaction time (he's toying with Tyson throughout Round 2). Timing was everything back in the old NES days.

I understand the concept of taking punches to let him regain some of his strength, but I'm calling major BS on getting knocked to the canvas intenionally. In that sequence you blocked three consecutive jabs and get knocked down on the fourth block attempt. Which part of this is "on purpose." Not only did you get knocked down once you started blocking, but Tyson was able to do it without regaining anymore energy, essentially defeating the purpose of taking hits...right?

Not to doubt the skills of some of the younger people playing these games with an emulator, but it isn't the same as the real NES, the time after school playing video games, your friends and neighbors all hanging out playing Nintendo. Best times were back in the 80's...nowadays, the youth isn't quite the same. They don't play with the neighborhood kids, don't ride their bikes, and are on youtube all day. Sucks, huh?
