Metal was in a death battle before, though they totally ignored his super neo form. Zero shouldn't of won. Also the important thing about Eggman is despite being a pretty strong dude himself he doesn't like fighting with his bare hands. Sage does control his army so she's basically needed. And Metal sonic deserved the spotlight again after the death battle he was in.
