I read somewhere that guy just wanted to disappear from the net and take his time to chill or something like that, ya know, we can´t tell what´s in some people´s mind. He looked great in his vids but perhaps was depressed or something. It´s a shame as he is such a great instructor.

@ldiddynyc9 жыл бұрын
Great speaking/teaching skills. Another thing is that most boxers only "piston punch". You don't have to push off your opposite leg for a strong punch; you can punch with the same side leg. It is a hip twisting action, I think Sugar Ray Leonard was very good at it.. You can fly away from your opponent and hurt him if you're using the hips well. I call them transition punches.
@LaserrSharp4 жыл бұрын
Barrera caught Erik Morales with a beautiful 3 punch combo while moving backwards without pushing off the opposite leg. He just let his shoulder rotation do the work.
@ryankabcenel97004 жыл бұрын
Wtf are you talking about pushing off the opposite leg?
@artofmartialcinemaamc53344 жыл бұрын
@@ryankabcenel9700 With footwork, you generally push off the opposite leg of which direction moving. Example, you wouldn't push off your right foot to move to your right. You push off your left foot to move right and vice versa. Moving forward you push off your back foot, and vice versa
@joshmilbrandt32252 жыл бұрын
If your upper body is incredibly powerful you can still generate enough force to seriously damage your opponent even without hip rotation. These are guidelines and basics all fighters need to know. in real life it is sometimes necessary to deviate, for example if your opponent is wide open you might throw a hook even if you are off-balance for some reason. For example the most powerful punch that can be thrown is one with a running start and a jump at the end. This type of punch can kill someone if it connects clean however it’s trivial to get out of the way and attempting this in the ring is more likely to get you knocked out than your opponent.

Because there are more than 2 fist to worry about in mma if u slip like a boxer u can catch a kick to your head timed by opponent jon jones vs daniel Cormier 2 see the ko d.c leans into the kick because a bad habit of slipping like boxers do when kick boxing and grappling it can work against you ...see dominic cruz ,t.j. dillashaw for footwork. .head slips bob weave see anderson silva defense.and counters
@joshmilbrandt32252 жыл бұрын
If you keep up a hard jab and continue moving you are limiting your opponents ability to accurately kick you. Also slipping like that does not force you to throw a punch, if you know your opponent is kicking high you might bait a kick and catch him off balance. In both sports the point is to be unpredictable.

a lot of mma guys train in boxing heavily, the problem is the necessity to compromise the stance for the defence of leg kicks and takedown really does take a trol. I think the true boxer stance is awesome but i simply cant move in and out fast enough to completely avoid takedown & leg kicks.

SELAIN My first Judo Sensei told me something that its absolutely truth when it comes to fighting. "Its all about space management; in order to get hit, you have to make the conscious decision to accept the hit. Keep your distance, as they try their technique/combo, shift your stance and close the distance. It worked for Rousey's first few fights.
@CRS44419 жыл бұрын

***** I have sparred with MMA guys while they were getting ready for their fights. I am a Judo guy, who is new to boxing. I was able to easily avoid their punches, close the distance, lock their limbs in the clinch, take them down and finish them. I believe Ronda rousey lost because they made her believe that she could stand toe to toe with a real boxer. She should have stuck with a Judo game plan. Can't "fake the shake"...
@CRS44418 жыл бұрын
+franciscoreatas11 Ok I am talking about True Boxers like Marvin Cook NOT the MMA guys that you were sparring with. Marvin and those MMA guys are WAY Too Different opponents. With the proper footwork, balance, angles, and all the principles of the True Boxing Discipline, it will be Extremely Difficult for any grapplers to get a hold of them-(actually True Boxers) not your MMA guys. The MMA guys who train at the pro fighting gym of where Marvin is at in that video Could Not shoot or clinch or takedown Marvin in anyway, he Overcame them by Outsmarting them. I only used capitalization for some of the words and letters only to emphasize, not because I am yelling(except the acronym of MMA)
