Well said. Honestly I think Pam would've un-alived Punchline back when she attacked Harley. If I was a Super Villain in DC, I would plain avoid attacking anything Pam loves. Anything harming the environment or Harley, would be plain stupid in the DC verse. That said, at least Punchline as a character seems to be better written this time around.

I've gotta be honest, Punchline is really starting to grow on me after all the coverage on this channel. I didn't like her at the start because she was WAY too overpowered and didn't have any sort of backstory or in-canon reason as to why she was so hyper-competent and capable of literally anything; she was almost Mary Sue-ish, and was really annoying and frustrating to read because of it. I've actually really started to like her now that she's been toned down and better defined, and that she's being used more sparingly and isn't being shoehorned into any book the writers could possibly add her into. I wouldn't say that Punchline has become one of my favs, but I can say that I do like her and find her interesting and genuinely like seeing more from her. Thanks for all the Punchline coverage, Sasha, definitely keep it up. 😁

They're acting like they're on their way to take out Calendar Man or something, not a big bad. It's really a shame they don't do editors notes like they used to. When I was a kid they had notes for days which helped me really get into the lore along with the letters columns and Ask The Answer Man. And they really came in handy when I discovered comic book shops with back issues because bound collections were rare. They started to show up less after the first Crisis.

I do have questions: If they were going by the idea that White Rabbit was kidnapped because she "tested/tracked well" with Punchline's hottub stream audience, why redesign her costume NOW when having the original would make more sense in this context? Why not redesign it after this is over with as a result of this adventure? And if the answer is that White Rabbit isn't making it out of this story, why bother with a redesign at all? I don't dislike the new look mind you, it just would have made sense with the type of audience who would want her specifically cross with people would would watch Punchline's stream. Also I don't believe that's Perry the Convenience Store clerk, he's not even wearing a Fedora.

I also think it might have something to do with making her costume more appealing to female readers. I do think the GSS comics more than others get a female audience (and White Rabbit is lesser known) this makes her look more appealing for what is likely to be a new female audience.

I’ve always wondered but WHY does White Rabbit do what she does? Like why is she dressed as a white rabbit? Why does she do crime? Have they ever explained it? I know this is probably off topic but I was wondering why there hasn't been a story where White Rabbit, Alice, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts (the serial killer not the member of the royal flush gang) ever got together and form a wonderland gang of some type in Gotham.

Issue 2 definitely makes the mini feel like a vehicle to make Punchline more of a thing, rather than a Sirens reunion, which sucks. There was a lot in this issue (as you said) that you have to suspend your disbelief for, too much for me. Why is Catwoman suddenly "the tech guy"? Why would Harley Quinn be even mock jealous of a forehead kiss? How is Poison Ivy not immune to the gas Punchline used? Why do the Sirens even care about White Rabbit to begin with? Its just such a stretch, and all of that is easier to get distracted by when there is such a downturn in quality of the art. The artist for Issue 2 seems to have drawn all of the bodies and then drawn the faces in later, making it feel like they are LEGO people that you can just swap out their faces. I assume Ivy was researching XO Punch because of the mind control stuff (since that is kind of her thing outside of plants) and might be worried that Punchline is using and abusing some kind of hallucinogenic plants, but none of that is even alluded to and we're halfway through the mini already. All in all, if this was just DC's way of trying to build Punchline up, I don't think it will work, because it's doing it at the cost of three of their most beloved female characters looking like morons.

I suppose it could be explained that Harley and Ivy are not susceptible to the mind control drink due to their unique physiology and even Catwoman has something along those lines too given that she's apparently immortal. But that also means they shouldn't have been so easily captured unless they were just faking it in order to infiltrate Punchline's game or whatever.

It definitely is weird that Harley said whore there. She’s definitely the kinda person who would say it endearingly, if she was like, much younger. A lot of the writing of this kinda puts all of these characters in like that young 20s college age. Which works perfectly for punchline but like doesn’t make sense for the sirens. But this is definitely how Punchline comics should play out. We just gotta figure out who her heroes should actually be

@@seeleunit2000 Well, officially (whatever that means these days at DC) Harley and Ivy are basicly the same age according to Paul Dini's notes on Harley. Based on Harley being a psychiatrist and looking at the average time someone needs to study and stuff to become one we can assume that, if she started college at 18, the youngest she could be is 29 but she's most likely almost in her mid-30s. But approaching things like that logically and with regard to canon and continuity is a fools errand because Batman should be in his early 40s by now and the Joker almost 60 and that's clearly not what DC intendet.

If that's the halfway point I don't think the pacing is right at all for a 4 issue mini series. I think #1 should've had all the exposition stuff and ended with them starting to go after Punchline while #2 should've started with them getting captured. That way there would've been more room for the main part of the story. Or just make it 5 issues. It also kinda seems like the comic really wants to keep you guessing and wondering what'll happen next but it's just so flat. Comparing that to the OG sirens title I actually was wondering what the Joker was up to and why he suddendly cared so much about getting Harley back only to be blindsided by Gaggy. That was actually solid. Here it ultimately boils down to a variation of villain poisons the water supply but with energy drinks. Also kinda reminds me of the zombie game Sunset Overdrive.

You basically described my review style near the end, finding the good and parts of a story apart from my overall enjoyment. Bad stories can get something right and good stories may not get everything right. Nothing's perfect, and sometimes you can not be into a "good" story of actually enjoy a "bad story" for various reasons. It's why MST3K exists.

After the first issue, I was all set to trade buy this book when it was released. But the change in art for this issue has been a total deal-breaker. It's not just a matter of not being a fan of this issue's art style. But with a mini series (especially one that's only four issues ), having one consistent artist feels like it should be a given.

The "wh*re" line does feel a touch weird. I can see Harley saying it, but not to Poison Ivy (based on how I view their relationship). It is commonly said in my friend group as a term of endearment.
