Very nice result on these complex shapes! I like the fact that you didn't go the easy route with 3D printing and made it all by hand. I think it feels more organic. Thanks for sharing all of that build with us and courage for the rest of the costume! It looks like a lot of work because of all the details, but seeing how handled the horns, I have no doubt you'll succeed making the entire costume and that the result will be great! (that's what I think of your past costumes!) Just a step at time and in no time you'll have climbed that mountain without even realizing it! :D Stay safe! Cheers from France!

I see a lot of creators using painters tape for patterning recently. Isn't a cloth tape like duct tape easier to form for rounded pieces? I feel like painters tape wrinkles and doesn't have quite the same give for complex curves, especially horns.
@thomaswakefield68899 ай бұрын
painters tape has been a staple of pattern making for decades, it's been used for camo painting on military vehicles and equipment as well as to outline symbols, numbers, letters and much more. so it's nothing new and it's more reliable if you are careful with your pattern designs
@itsagundam799 ай бұрын
@@thomaswakefield6889 I wouldn't argue that it's fantastic for flat painting, as you mention on vehicles and outlining. That's definitely true. The only painters tape I've found that excelled for anything curved or rounded is Tamiya tape, as far as painting complex curved surfaces. Pretty pricy for anything larger than model kits though. Costuming especially though, I've always found duct tape to be easier to wrap for spikes, horns, prop weapons. And many of the creators on KZbin & IG have made duct tape patterns until very recently. Kamui, Odin Makes, Evil Ted as examples.

only part that confused me is you said you wanted the edges to be sharp on the horn and cut it so they would be sharp... then you just dremeled them smooth
