exactly. People just want to call you messed up when you mention it or tell the story because they don't want to think about it. The people telling the story may have had this happen to them and wished somebody like Frank would have walked through their door. I also love this comic, because it's the only piece of media I've seen that states that in 20 years they may become the monsters that harmed them. And he was willing to do something about it then too.

Punisher is the goat, because he doesn’t mess around or doesn’t go by the law. He just hits the criminals, rapists, murderers, sadist, traffickers, psychopaths hard and they permanently stay down. He doesn’t give them a second chance, because he knows that they don’t deserve it, if anyone says otherwise it’s like Hitler or Mussolini deserves a second chance. It shows that being a superhero or following the law, the sense of justice isn’t always adequate, sometimes you need to take extreme measures in order to keep people safe. That’s why Gotham is never truly safe because of Batman’s sense of justice and he needs his one and only playmate. I love and admire Batman, however for joker he needs to make an exception, which he won’t. Give punisher 24 hours he’ll make Gotham a safe place. Frank castle is the hero we deserve

Gotham has alot of problems not jsut the joker or the other super villians or crime lords hell even with jason todd/red hood crime didnt go down and Jasons basically a tame ninja verson of frank ( wow that felt weird to say). Frank also has alot of respect for the law as when two cops showed up repping his symbol he was more mad at the fact they where repping his symbol instead of upholding the law and if those two cops didnt get a call right than and there he would ahve killed the both of them. Frank knows hes not a good person and knows hes a bad guy. batman on the other hand is a vigalanty who wants to up hold the law witch is why he works with it ( frank doesnt) hell even in the comics where marvel and dc cross frank respects bruce the only thing he really calls him out for is letting the joker live out side of that he does respect what bruce is doing. Gotham city has alot of problems corrupt officials, understaffed and over worked police force, super villians and crime bosses run the streets. i mean looking at it why does the city need a man in a bat suit to give them hope and to stop the super villians and crime lords but the police force cant hell even in the comics its explained why the government just doesnt kill off the super villians cause they use them you got kadmus and a few other orgnizations that use super villians. also in the cross over frank was beaten by a good number of gothams villians the only real W he got was against joker and joker was more afriad of how he would die not that he was gonna die. and thats the thing to depending on the comics frank is either jsut keeping the crime under control like red hood or getting his ass beat

@@coolchrisable Frank is the cure for Gotham also there other few anti heroes for it of course (deadpool, ghost rider, moon knight, blade, etc.). Punisher is an also expert tactician so he can figure a way out to eradicate gothams corruption in 24 hours. For example he can kill the big bosses and to become crime lord where he can control the corruption empire of Gotham that runs within, then he can eliminate all of them at some point, in addition he can create a reputation by that so it shows the other criminals that in Gotham there’s no place for them. So with some super criminals and the big corruption roots destroyed by Punisher it would make Batmans job 10 times more easier, reason being is as much as I respect and love Batman he needs to make exceptions about some criminals that don’t deserve a second chance and we know the primary example for that. So with a little persuasion and a push he can get Gotham on his feet or clean it up completely, because when a man has nothing to loose he has everything to gain. Punisher is the pinnacle of that statement and Batman is not, because he has a lot to loose (his assets, his legacy, his allies, the trust, etc.) As for the government part they can try to eliminate punisher so they can keep their experiments safe and sound however that won’t take long because punisher has a lot of skills and crazy arsenal behind his back that he can gain/regain (depending) and they’ll also know that they won’t mess with Gotham anymore. However you’re also absolutely right with your statement, I agree 100% , but I also listed the possible scenarios and those could happen let’s say if Batman isn’t around or the bat family, due to that Gotham could go nuts in matter of minutes with ease. So apart from punisher I would suggest moon knight too for cleaning up Gotham, if you look at this point moon knight is Batman, although he’s extremely unhinged, has super human abilities, doesn’t have specific moral, he doesn’t mind going to extreme levels like punisher.

The Slavers arc (that this is the opening of) is imo one of the best comics of the Punisher ever. Absolutely fantastic emotional horror from the first panel to the last.

@@wagingus8078 - Indeed, it's in part2 of the Widowmaker arc, from issue #44 of The Punisher: Frank Castle Max. I'm not a huge fan of that arc, even if it has some good comedic moments between the widows (the dyslexia part always makes me crack up, Garth Ennis isn't in my top 5 comic writers for nuffin'), but that issue, between the p.e.d.o.s and the school shooting back-to-back followed by the dyslexia gag, it's quite the roller coaster.

I think people fail to mention the twisted acceptance Frank Castle has toward the end with the two boys. He’s aware in his frame of mind the damage is done and they more than likely will fall into the same crime as adults hence his “might see them again” What oddity and sorrow the thought of it happening but Frank lets them live hoping for a recovery although he may have accepted it’s not possible. What a shame in the twisted Grey that is.
