In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shares with you the top 3 most common chess opening mistakes after 1.e4. These mistakes were made in over 4 million games, so you definitely need to know how to punish them.
These mistakes happen in the most common opening moves in amateur and club level players, which are 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6, arriving at the Two Knights Defense. The errors made by most players happen in this variation, and the Fried Liver Attack where White plays 4.Ng5, and also in the Italian Variation of the Four Knights Game which happens after White plays 4.Nc3.
Watch this video lesson so that you don't make these opening mistakes yourself, and you also know how to punish your opponents when they play them.

Your videos are captivating and bring nice ideas, but only in case opponent is cooperating. I tried multiple of your opening weird lines in blitz which you said are surprisingly sound and quickly got into troubles, as in real play almost no opponent played anticipated moves. Great example is Nf3 d5 e4 line. I played maybe 20 games with it and got into lines you explain just maybe twice. Here in this i also see multiple holes, where perfectly natural moves by opponent lead to troublesome position for black.

I don't see how Ng5 (Fried liver Attack) is a mistake (or a top 3 error) after watching this video. Did I miss something? I looked at 4 ... Nxe4 for Black in response to the Fried Liver Attack, thinking it was an error for White in this video trying the Fried liver Attack in the first place, hoping this was a Bust to the Fried Liver, because of the developing double attacking move of d5! - but, the 4 ... Nxe4 move seems like an incorrect recommendation, after White's correct response leading to a better position for White instead of a defense for Black, because of the mentioned line: 5. Bxf7+ (not Nxe4, not Nxf7) Ke7 6. d3 Nf6 7. Bb3 d5, which according to Stockfish Analysis is a +2.0 position for White.

@@rosiefay7283 Good point! Your correct defensive line does give Black a good position, which was even played at the top level by Google's Alphazero defeating Stockfish. See game: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4Xbp2tvicx4m5o

A fake?? In what way in particular. He pretty much stopped playing comp at grandmaster level and his games are on the record. He simply saw an opening to provide educational services for club players. If he was a fake that means he would not be a grandmaster and would not know what his talking about also I am sure serious club players would not buy his materials which they do People get jealous too easily these days and just criticise at the drop of a hat.

@@darrylkassle361 yes Darryl i agree with you!...the stuff i see from Smirnov for me it's very good, i like his videos very much, even though i can't afford his courses because i am just a poor pensioner!. Anyway the guy that says he is a fake is a long time friend of mine, he like for instance the videos of Andras but he hate everything Smirnov because he say that Smirnov say things other GM's don't!.He also say he doesn't know how Smirnov could become GM with his "nonsense" that he teach...stuff like that, also he imply that Smirnov is only in it for the money etc!.(Actually at the moment i am evaluating the viability to be friends with this person...it is quite a few years that we have serious differences about the truths in chess, for instance he sleep breathe and eat only calculation in chess as the "fundamental" thing in chess but my stance is "the position on the board is the fundamental thing in chess"...ok yes i know the importance of calculation everybody knows that but what i say is you need to know what to calculate, and for that to happen you have to evaluate the position on the board, because "calculation is not evaluation" it is not the same thing!...what do you think of this my friend?, your opinion is he right or am i right or are we both wrong, and if so why please? what do you think?🤔🤠

in both cases black ends up with a +2 material advantage, if bishop takes then the queen doesn't take the bishop and white just goes Kh1

Because queen takes forces the queen trade. Bishop takes and their queen is still on the board. When ahead it's best to trade queens so trading queens is good for you.

I really don’t know, but my problems completely solved after I use VPN, i have no trouble at all

g3?? Is a blunder there. White plays Nxg3! And the Queen hits the bishop on c4 with lots of nasty stuff in store for black. If black takes the rook then white checks on e4 picking up the rook on h1.
@zemora9813
@zemora9813 Жыл бұрын
if white plays pawn at g3, knight takes the pawn, white cannot use h2 to capture back as he will lose the rook, so he'll use i3 pawn to capture back. Now, you use queen check to check at e4 . If white use queen to defend, you can capture the rook at h1. If not, the king will probably move to f2. Use the bishop to c5 to check again. King must move back and now you can use queen capture the rook again.
