Don't assume that these jackets are owned by rich people. Yeah we paint our jackets and put on studs, but it doesn't happen over night. They take months or even years to get filled up like the ones in this video. I painted my jacket with $1 cans of spray paint. I designed it using $1 whiteout and sharpie markers. And trust me..it was an extremely slow and long process.

We always used paint-pens. They fit into pockets pretty well and I always had a few in my jacket for adding bands at shows or tagging on the fly. They're really cheap and easy to find in an art supply store.

@GKazooProduction you can use patches, i use both patches and paint. To do patches i suggest using studs to fasten them. Sewing it will be hard work. And paint, acrylic.

Sort of. I wouldn't say I "outgrew" it though, it wasn't that I thought (or think) it's below me or anything, my taste in music just started to change. I was also getting this feeling like I got up every morning and put on my punk uniform. I don't dislike or look down on the genre, I'm just into different things now. I still listen to the music here and there, but I'm certainly not living the punk lifestyle. My other problem was all my punk friends got expelled from my high school.

I use these markers called Painters made by Elmers. They're inexspensive and do the job. I use them for small areas or when I'm doing a band logo.

Surprisingly enough, white out works wonders on the leather shown in the video. Otherwise, there is paint made to stick on leather well.

it's totally not like you can find an old leather jacket in a thrift store for like $25 or anything, and i understand that that, even, might be a lot for some people! But i got my jacket second hand, for free! and i've spent maybe $15 customizing it after that. but i could see your point not being a monetary one, and then i would appreciate a response explaining what you're saying more clearly. my point is just you don't have to be rich to get leather jackets.

What about painting on denim? I am going to try cutting out a stencil with a basic shape or design, and then spray paint it on. I don't think that will ever come out, but if anyone has any recommendation, I would be much appreciated. Also, I have found that just using your everyday black sharpee on denim to be perfect. Just don't let to much ink soak in or else it will blur in the wash.

+Luke Campbell what i did was to paint with regular acrilic and cover with nailand cover with enamel, abudy told me to use spraya aerosol paint that works out pretty well too
