I lived in Melbourne from 82-84. And in '83 I lived on Jackson Street opposite Rowland S Howard Lane. On both sides of the Lane. Seaview was my fave place, or should I say Christal Ballroom. I saw Death Kennedies, John Cale, Play with Marionettes, Nick Cave Man or Myth on I think New Years Eve 83/84, Gun Club, The Saints with Chris Baley who had to stop at 12 and played on outside on the stairs with his guitar, and more. Still homeground to me somehow. Loved it. Great to see a film of it. Nicely made with to bright lights to film comfortably. I saw the houses where I lived with friends are untouched 40 years later. Great. St. Kilda style. The heavy happy times.

The beautiful redhead, I got to know some years later and a lovely lady she was. Used to see her there in those days. She was the girlfriend of one of the singers in one of the bands. Can't remember who. We were there two, three times a week for years. Great people, great times.
