Wilko, a one off and original. Sadly gone but not never forgotten.

Gid bless you Wilko. I only came to appreciate your music quite recently and now I know what I've missed over the years. Give Lee a hug from us.

Wilko is such an engaging character, and I love the way he talks, it's like when you pour lemonade into a galss too quick and the bubbles rise up and out over the top - he's got all these ideas and information bursting to get out

Brilliant .... What a character, AND played in two of the best bands... Imagine being with Dr. Feelgood, and then getting with Ian Dury and the Blockheads... Epic !

Heinz - a talent-free area! The video of Wilko backing Heinz on that day in 1972 at Wembley is on youtube. But nothing on MC5 from that day. Check out MC5 at Tartar Field to see what Wilko would have seen. This was punk five years before punk.

3:44 Wilko talks about MC5 - if you've not seen the video of them live it's worth watching!

Absolutely fascinating! I certainly remember seing the Feelgoods pretty early on in their career, at the Kensington in West London, and that was quite astounding. What an interesting raconteur Wilko is.

And you can see the sweet young Wilko with hair to his shoulders behind Heinz at the 1972 London R'n'R show. Terrified but loving it.
