I'm glad we're in this moment. Back in 2006, when I was in middle school my older brother got in an argument with a female co-worker at a shoe store they worked at. A week later she accused him of sexual assault at work and fortunately was found innocent but asked to resign. That incident forever changed me in how I react to allegations because it was found that my brother was not even at work when she accused him (she was just a bad liar when asked multiple times what day and time the assault occurred). Luckily as well my brother lost a dumb low wage high school part time job, he never faced any legal issues because of it but the point was made clear to me. Women can and DO lie about this stuff. I've held my tongue through the metoo movement because there are a lot of true horror stories and men who are actual monsters. But it has never left me that just because there are true horrific incidents, you can't just believe 100% of women. Some do lie and when they do, it can't just be ok to quietly take back the allegation and move on. The damage is done and it's terrible for the person accused for the rest of their life. Forget football, how is this guy gonna relate to women in the future? His capacity for relationships is messed forever because of it, but we can't talk about that because some people think any women who comes out with an allegation at any time should always be believed no matter what?

I’ve seen the same thing happen to my buddy in high school. The girl changed her mind about having sex when he refused to date her 2 weeks later. It was sad and we were constantly getting into it with white knights. After graduating she apologized for what she did but destroyed his last 2 years of high school. He had definitive proof with notes she had written saying how great it was and she wanted to hook up again. Changed my perspective forever on women. This was before cell phones

How can you say we shouldn’t change our view on future situations? The culture 100% needs to change. We went from many woman not being taken seriously and claims never being investigated to the exact opposite which is just as bad where woman make claims and they don’t need a shred of evidence to destroy somebody. All claims of sexual assault or misconduct need to be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated no matter who is making the claims. That mean we need to act the way most ppl do now about it.
