In this video I take a look at how the Tomtom/Blue and me satnav works and how to set it up in your car, also if you don't have the TomTom satnav this video covers what you can do with the Fiat 68R socket in your dashboard if you don't have the satnav.

Hey I have the blue&me satnav in my fiat punto evo 2011. I remember how hard it proved to load the uk map from the PC I have never been able to get the satnav to link to the car. Even following these steps it seems to just time out where the car says connecting but the satnav isn’t? Any help would be appreciated. - Dom

I've seen a 2013 Punto Twin Air but where the little cubby hole/drawer and sat nav connection point is there is just a blank space. You can buy the connector/drawer piece second hand but I'm just wondering if all twin airs had this as standard or why it would be omitted on this particular car, maybe something to do with trim levels or optional extras?

Almost certainly to do with trim levels, I think a lot of cars had it when they introduced the socket but then fiat realised that people were not buying the accessories and it gets expensive putting a socket in every car if no one is using it or cares about it

Hello, thanks for this vid. Do you know how to put my panda in pairing mode?? And how can I reset this unit to factory settings. I pushed the reset button several times but it does not reset this unit. Greetings Aedriaen

I have no idea about pandas sorry, on mine pairing mode was activated by the voice control system but I’m sure that is not the case on the majority of cars

You cannot buy this because I custom made it from the Ebay sold phone holder and the satnav phone holder. They are similar designs so I spliced them together to make one that better fitted the Punto. Well spotted though.

This is a fantastic video, very helpful. Do you know if the media player also works with spotifiy? Is the system fast and up to date with new road maps?

Technically it should work with Spotify but different people find different things, basically put, blue and me is a bit (very) bad. The tomtom satnav as far as I know is still compatible with the latest maps

This system is pretty terrible by todays standards so I’d recommend just getting any other satnav system or using your phone in a holder with something like google maps

Not really, it can depend on a lot of things but if you have the usb plug and no media player button my best guess is that you have a newer Punto after they had done away with blue and me.

@@PuntoHowto hello, yes i have the usb plug without the aux in plug. I also updated my blue&me like in your other Video. My tomtom is also up to date. My car is from 2011. After all updates no change... i dont have the media player button :-(

So it did work but now it doesn’t, it’s unlikely to be software related and it’s very common to have problems with the buttons on the steering wheel

I bought my punto without the tomtom navigation , the tomtom I bought separately on Ebay... I did all needed updates on the tomtom & blue&me system... do you think this is the problem why the media player button doesn't appear?

After 2015/16 fiat completely did away with the blue and me system that this bracket needs to work, the socket would have been fitted from the car from new, the satnav won’t work with newer cars, instead they fitted an updated head unit with satnav as an option

Nope should just connect to the car when turned on, I can't unfortunately tell you why you're having this problem.

My blue me seams to have stop working and the milige dosent stop flashing.. How can I stop it from flashing? Do I nead to replace the blue me ou can I simply disconnect it? Will that stop the mileage flashing.. Your help is apriciated

The flashing means there is a communication problem with a module in the canbus system, if you remove a faulty blue and me module you normally have to code it out to stop the flashing

I honestly don't know, I've never updated the maps on this unit. I would contact TomTom for advice on this as it's their update.

You need to go to the Fiat dealer, it’s a Fiat genuine product and is sold at the parts counter, if you do see it online it’s because a dealership has an online shop through something like eBay or amazon, at the moment many dealerships are closed so have removed stock from these platforms.

Not sure what you are asking, these are a specific tomtom with blue and me they are branded as such, you can not just buy any other tomtom and have it work with the blue and me features. I’m sure they have there own specific model number I’m not sure what it is, if you want one then search for “Tomtom blue and me” only the blue and me models which are branded as such, will support blue and me features.

Bluetooth is only for calls there is no provision to be able to Bluetooth music to the car

The previous owner of my evo (2010) made his own aux cable (literally no idea why) if you can just connect your smartphone as you show in your video, but now the "AUX" channel won't show up and the blue&me doesn't function properly, like at all, I connected my phone and literally nothing, no music no nothing?! not even when I put a USB with some music on it in to the USB flashdrive, do you perhaps have any form of a solution for this? I have the same original radio as you

@RJ One its not a problem, I don't check for spam very often but anything with links or email addresses tends to get picked up. Yes you can swap them, take the wheel off and push it out from the back, I have a set of 4 wheel caps sat on the shelf in my office waiting to go on when I get the chance to refurbish the wheels.

I don’t believe it can be retrofitted easily as it takes all of its connections from the blue and me unit, if you don’t have the socket but do have blue and me it might mean your blue and me computer doesn’t support the socket

@@PuntoHowto i do have blue and me, but in my research the socket has just two wires for power, which can be easily connected. However the tom tom is what having blue and me connectivity which connects via Bluetooth for steering control.

You can get the cables off eBay the satnav unit is a standard tomtom device with different software so it should work with standard tomtom cables
