Relax Or Fall Asleep To Relaxing & Peaceful Oddworld Music, namely the main themes of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. I came up with this idea after seeing 'fall asleep' and 'relaxation' videos and one day feeling immensely stressed and putting on Free Fire Zone from Oddworld Abe's Oddysee and it just destressed me immensely. I was like 'ooh, that's what I needed!' The music of Oddworld, composed by Ellen Meijers and Josh Gabriel, is simply so beautiful and peaceful, I thought it'd be the perfect music to use in a fall asleep or relax music video. Relaxing music seems to be a forte of these game composers! I just hope my choice of music, literally just the Oddworld Abe's Oddysee theme music and the Oddworld Abe's Exoddus theme music from the Oddworld OST original sountrack and the way I merged every version of each theme together, as there's actually multiple versions of Free Fire Zone, also known as Stockyards, which is essentially the main theme of Oddworld Abe's Odyssey including a version that appears in Oddworld: New N' Tasty. When I came up with the idea for this, I listened to various Oddworld music to try to find the most peaceful music I could. While there's more I could've used, I decided to stick with the very natural, peaceful and similar sounding soundtracks of the main themes for Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, as well as the variant featured in Oddworld New N Tasty. Either way, I hope someone will gain enjoyment from this video and, who knows, someone might actually fall asleep to it, or at least relax! I know I'll personally find it usefull when I'm trying ot just be peaceful, destress and relax and feel mystical and natural or in nature or something like that. I don't know. You figure out what it means to you and how it makes you feel I guess.Oh! I've got one more story actually! So, basically, I remember as a child being in my sister's room and I think I was ill and I was playing Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus and I guess I fell asleep and when I woke up I was just sitting in this room alone with the PS1 controller in my hand. It was completely silent, not a single sound. The game was paused. And after a moment I pressed the pause button to unpause the game and the 'DOING' noise, or however it sounds, was POWERFUL. SO INTENSE. It felt amazing. Just being in this silent room and thne hearing the noises of Oddworld, first that sound and then simply the sound of the gameplay of Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus (I was in Necrum Mineworks at the time if I recall correctly, close to the beginning of the game.) So, yeah, this video was also kind of inspired by that experience. Oddworld and sleep go malte bene together. This video, arguably is kinda lazy, it's literally just 25 minutes or so of the main themes of the Oddworld games. I obviously had to add my own thing to it, hence why I created the animation of Abe's Moon in the night sky to give a visual element to the relaxation process for those that wanted it. I think I will spend many nights, when I want to relax, just staring at the screen, listening to the natural wonders that these themes are with my headset on, watching the clouds drift past, eclipsing the bright shine of Abe's Moon in the vibrant blue Oddworld Stockyard sky. It definitely enhances the relaxation experience, in my personal opinion anyway. At least that was my hope! Either way, I hope someone gets some use out of video and has a relaxing time!22:06 11-09-2020 1648#Oddworld #pupbenny #FallAsleep

We're the same age and I played this for the first time when I was like 3 or 4. Someone at my dad's work gave him some games they didn't want. We got this and that Apocalypse game (the Bruce Willis one). I remember playing it with my mum and pissing ourselves laughing watching Abe get mangled by saws and falling into pits.

Same I did not know about oddworld until I was 12 I missed been happy and feeling something now I play videos games from my childhood and cartoon because I don't feel happiness anymore but anxiety and depression and unhappiness is all I feel now but wanting to stay in bed not wanting to wake up because of how my family treated like a black sheep not coming to my birthday party and other events and how men treated me horrible I don't trust men and don't love men anymore. Just staying single until I die my mom still loves me tho I just don't want to remember the bad memories but they keep showing up in my mind. I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from dating those men.

And also full of horrible things that want to kill you, because nature is red in tooth and claw. Oddworld is still juvenile in its caricatures concerning industry, but unlike other cliche' enviromentalist works from the nineties it remembers to keep the context that the natural world is still a dangerous place that deserves respect more than pity. Because it will eat you.

Man, the Free Fire Zone from Abe's Oddysee is possibly the most evocative and atmospheric level I've ever experienced in a game. It's stayed with me since childhood, that mystic humming pulsing drone, that starry night sky, that sense of dread, mystery and impending freedom. You could almost feel the cold night breeze as Rupturefarms' rusty pipes and noxious fumes are left behind and you are greeted by a long forgotten view: the stars, the sky. The sound of nature, vast, sleeping but vigilant. The music puts me in a peaceful and curious mood every time I go back to hear it, and I absolutely love it. Favourite piece of ambience, ever

@@cholestroll8937 Hi! Well, you already listed a bunch of very good ones yourself! (the atmosphere in Darkwood is incredible!) The only one of those I've never played is the thief series for whatever reason, may or may not get around to it at some point, all I know is it's well loved. As for recommendations from me in terms of similar atmosphere: - Darkwood brings to mind the Stalker series: atmosphere is generally very immersive and I love the blowout events in Stalker Call of Pripyat. - Then there's the Pathologic series, I haven't played Pathologic 2, but the original Pathologic is a really unique and intriguing (if flawed) experience. - By the same developers as Pathologic, there's a relatively little known game called The Void. That one's even more unique. In terms of sound design, Elite:Dangerous has possibly some of the best I've ever heard in the industry, although it is a very different sort of game from those mentioned above. There's others, but memory fails me right now :)

I wanted to try to create the most relaxing Oddworld experience possible just for so when anyone wants to destress and relax (mainly me) and experience a bit of Oddword, they can just pop in to this video and watch the clouds calmly passing by the night sky, eclipsing the bright glare of Abe's Moon, while the peaceful soundtracks of Oddworld play in the background. My goal was to bring the Stockyards sky to life in some way. And I just wanted a long version of the really natural nightime-sounding main themes of both games to listen to at night when I just want to relax and think peacefully.

I like that the tracks tell the player that they're so miniscule compared to the rest of oddworld. Being at the bottom of the food chain was also something interesting, making you feel even more miniscule compared to all the wild animals and oddworld. It sets the scene perfectly. And the mucky green skies were also beautiful and that it changes to a calming blue at night makes the game a treat to glaze at. This is a perfect track for a perfect game!

What a lovely video, I adore the first 2 Oddworld games, they mean a lot to me and I wish I could tell Ellen Meijers and Josh Gabriel how much their dynamic music stuck with me, the OSTs to both are absolutely perfectly suited to what was going on 👏

Freakin' Love This Soundtrack. Really makes ya wonder, if they were to translate oddworld into some Cinematic Theatrical movie, not counting soulstorm even though its a perfect example. How would it's music sound? Say if it like, Recreated the Games tracks, into like epic movie style variants. You'd think they would sound like, Orchestral or Synth Heavy? Or Both?

Yeah it's quite repetitive and forgettable, no unique tracks that fit with each level like they used to. Although I did like the Necrum track in Soulstorm which was like the original Necrum theme from Exoddus.

Very cool idea, bud! As someone who's mind is constantly thinking and active, this was great. I am in the middle of uploading an Oddworld New N Tasty series designed to convey the canon storyline through the gameplay, edits etc. Please check the series out. It will all be uploaded by the end of October. Looking forward to Soulstorm, too! Much love.
