Hi! French here! I didn't expect to see some shows I watched as a kid on this list, but you brought back old memories of kindergarten me sitting and drinking milk in the morning while watching the tweenies! Thanks!

I'm Canadian. You know when you've never heard of over half of the shows in level one, you know you are in for a ride in the best way possible. Heard of The Storyteller, strangely enough.

Gerry Anderson is a huge inspiration for me, and his shows like ThunderBirds and Captain Scarlet, are some of the reasons on why i am hoping to make my own television shows someday in the future.

YOU MISSED YONDERLAND! It was a show made by the horrrible histories gang for an older audience, like Ghosts, but was made in between the two. It was about a mum named Debbie who found a magical land in her cupboard, and has to save Yonderland as a result. There were so many different puppets in that show, including one of the main characters being Elf and his magical stick named Nick, that can make a portal between yonderland and Debbie’s cupboard. Most of the humour comes from the people of yonderland acting like her children, with petty arguments she solves in three seconds which hails her a hero, along with some of the characters causing mischief in her own house while she hides it from her husband and kids. I loved the show when it first was broadcast on Sky, but I don’t think it had many reruns.

I absolutely adore your videos discussing obscure British TV shows since they give off a really cosy Nostalgic vibe, I actually grew up with a lot of these (the Muppet show in particular) since I LOVED puppetry as a child. Keep up the fantastic work, you're one of the best youtubers I've had the pleasure of subscribing to!

Japan is famous for anime and animation, while the UK is known for puppets and stop-motion animation. I wonder which other countries are also known for their unique forms of animation.

I remember seeing Terrahawks on US syndicated television, during the after school kid's block, and I was like, "What the heck am I looking at? This isn't cartoons." Also, thanks for mentioning The Muppet Show, also shown in US syndication (before prime time). My sister and I grew up with Jim Henson's magical muppetry.

i didn't grow up with a lot of these characters and shows because i'm american (the teletubbies being one exception as i did watch that as a kid) but i know a lot of them because puppetry is one of my interests/fixations so this video is right up my alley!

Hello again 👋 I’m trying to remember 2 programs (that weren’t on the iceberg) that I watched as a kids in the early 2000s that used puppets. I wasn’t big fans of these 2 shows, I would just watch them because they were on as this was before Watch on Demand and streaming. One was about a boy whose grandad tells him about his missing pocket watch as he’s putting him (the boy) to bed in the intro. As he falls asleep he always says “one day I’ll find that watch” and then starts to dream about himself and other characters on a ship. When the programme ends, the boy wakes up and then he tells his granddad about his dream. I don’t know if it was British or Irish, but I do remember it showing on a BBC channel or some other kids’ channel. The next one is a little vague. All I remember is that it’s about a crow who is friends with a little blonde girl & is always getting into trouble- mainly with the police. Throughout the series he ends up living in a grandfather clock. I want to say this aired on back when we still had BBC Choice. My second guess would be CITV. If this jogs anyone’s memory, I would love to know. I tried googling them but nothing came up.

A great iceburg with some really nostalgia punches. A couple of puppets that were a shame to not see were The Gristles from Dizzy Heights in the early 90's (they also got their own spin off series) and Round the Bend from I think mid 90's. Also it's Pob not Pog, he even spelt it on the screen in his own spit 😂

I could be wrong but I think you missed the puppets from You And Me (1974 -1992) In 1983 the program introduced Cosmo and Dibs who were these lion-bear-things who were the child audience's insert who interacted with human co-stars (Much like Sesame Street) the program had other puppets throughout it's run too.

The first photo with Roger and the size comparison of his model of the T-Rex/Allo, along with the Triceratops, Styracosaurus, and Ceratosaurus I've seen on Flickr.

1. Love Sooty. Can't remember how I sawr him in the US, but it was love at first sight. Also I recall seeing a clip of Justin Hayward and John Lodge of the Moody Blues on with Zig and Zag back in 1996 I think. Don't know how Justin kept a straight face listening to those puppets sing Nights In White Satin.
