In this episode I will teach Rooco our 10 week old Rottweiler some basic Commands and Tricks. He is quick to learn! Sit, down, "sleep" (means go to crate). Because he loves to eat so much he is learning very quickly and he gets a treat when he succeeds! No matter what, he will do anything for food!

Oh my goodness, he is already getting so big. Precious doesn't even begin to describe this boy. He is going to be excellent as a floor cleaner during cooking time, no one in your home is ever going to need a broom. Teaching them visual cues along with verbal commands is great in case your dog should loose its hearing in their senior years. 👍 When teaching "leave it", put his leash on and use one of Olivia's toys as the leave it. When he goes for it tug leash and say leave it. Then you can still use the food for reward.

Your training techniques are spot on. I love seeing a Rottie in training. He is laser focused on you and I realize that it's his love of the treats right now but it will pay you back big dividends when he is full grown . Nice job. Love your videos man .

It's a real joy seeing your handsome boy. I had to go through the ordeal of having my handsome boy put to sleep on Monday. He gave me the best 10yrs of having the most wonderful pet/friend I could ever wish for and I genuinely feel heartbroken. I hope Rocco brings you and your family everything you hope for and more

Rocco is a real food maniac. His puppy brain sends him "FOOD" messages all the time. He is a brillant learner, very energetic. Sometimes I have the feeling Rocco is still wondering where he is and maybe afraid the FOOD MAN will disappear and not come back. I think he will get more calm the next months cause he will know this house is his real home.

These videos are entertaining. Can you teach him paw and rollover? Also looking forward to his first bathtime. There are bowls that have pegs in the middle to slow down the way he eats you can get from petco and I would get the elevated dog bowl instead of the floor level one to help with digestion/bloating.

Good ideas i will keep that in mind. The breeder gave him a bath at 8 weeks so I probably will do one in a few weeks

When my Diesel would act like he was starving after he already had his meal, I would give him a little extra. Probably not the right thing to do but..🥺 You can always ask your vet too.

Come, drop it, kennel up, heel, no. Most important commands. He’s doing great. You’re going great. Try toys for reward if food drive is too intense. He may grow out of that, or he may need help. He’s just a baby, there’s time. 👍

Training is always good but especially for socializing. I feed mine with the bowl that has raised middle to slow down eating. I also elevate the dish. I found plant stands are an inexpensive trick for that. He’s growing and puppies burn food quick. You should see him slow down eating some as he ages. I’ve raised Rottys and showed them for over 40 years. They are in my heart and I am upset that the one I have will be my last. I am old and having physical issues that just doesn’t allow me to have large dogs anymore. I don’t know how I’m going to adjust without one in my life 😪

rottweilers are great dogs do not allow him to be food protective, i was the only one that could take his bowl away from him. he was the smartest dog we ever had he worked on silent hand command or verbal, my 2 year old grandoughter is his buddy really great with young kids

ah oh.. My Toko Is 3yrs old and 150lb, he is not fat at all, solid muscle and your boy has his build... I have short videos on my channel of him... Toko was and is food crazed also... once he turns a year old you can give him extra protien to make him feel fuller longer but plz do not do extra protien til he is a year old... feeding high protien at young age causes them to grow too fast and will cause medical issues...

Do you recommend at 10wks mini training as you are doing then formal training at 12 wks or does it depend on the dog?

I’m just waiting for rabies shots and stuff. But i feel like he’s already ready to start training. Even at 8 weeks I feel like you can do basic stuff like waiting for them to sit before giving them their food.

My Rottie would not eat, even with all kinds of bribery, so I have little sympathy for a Rottie THAT EATS TOO MUCH!😜
