Oh my! Here in the Philippines we got our Golden Retriever, Maki, for $500 including his papers (Philippine Canine Club) and 2 shots of vaccines from his Vet. I had no idea they cost so much in the U.S. But still you can’t put a price on the best dog breed in the world. ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for sharing!

something i would suggest since i have a golden as well is to put a leash around your couch leg and train your dog to stay there for rest (put a bed there too)

GET A BERNEDOODLE!!! THEY ARE THE BEST. They are poodles mixed with Bernese mountain dogs. I highly recommend a mini size which are 40-60 lbs

Please either keep or buy a new crate when he gets bigger. He already knows it's his safe space and if you out of nowhere take that away it might (can) have a bad effect on your pup. My pup is 2 years old and still has his from day one, and he goes in there when he wants to because it's always open and his safe space.

@@sarahj8901 I don’t see how? If they are locked in it multiple hours a day, yes of course. But when they are tired or just need a place to be alone they have an escape in their safe space (crate). I guess it’s different from owner to owner. A few years back I thought a crate was awful but now I now it also can be a good thing. As long as the owner use it right.

In Australia it’s not as common to have dogs in apartments. The cost of living and price of rents have increased so it’s super hard to find a place if you have a pet. Soo many are surrendering their dogs to the shelter. I’m looking to add to our family, it’s been 2 years since we lost our chihuahua. Looking to get a bigger family friendly dog.

Same for me with puppy biting. Just got one yesterday and he bites SO MUCH! His name is lion he's 9 weeks old and distracting him with a toy does not work. Sometime he'll play with his toys but most of the time, instead of raw hide bones he wants human bones. (just kidding but he bites a lot)

I don't have a reason in specific, but I also think that Golden Retrievers are the best dogs ever. When I get my own space I will definitely have a Golden and name him Aslan. It’s really important that you feed high quality food. Especially if you are planning on getting a medium to large size dog. Some really great brands to look into are Farmina n&d, purina pro plan are a few that aren’t extremely expensive but are great quality. Honestly it’s best to find a family pet supply store in your area that has high quality food. They are often very knowledgeable and will be able to help you if you dog has a sensitive stomach or food allergies. Also I definitely take her advice and get pet insurance. Nationwide offers pet insurance that even covers spay and neuters and especially in the first year it will pay for itself. I hope this helps!

Oh one more thing. If you decide to crate train never leave any toys that the puppy can destroy when left alone (and never ever leave a rope toy with them). If they do eat something they aren’t supposed which is bond to happen at some point pet Insurance is a nice safety net. Kongs are my family’s favorite. We fill the bottom with diluted chicken both and freeze it on a tray. Then after the bottom is solid we put some small treats/dog friendly fruits. Then full it with either yogurt or peanut butter and freeze again because it will keep the occupied longer. Sorry I am just so passionate about dog care and training. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

She seems like a great pet parent just wanted to say if your dog has separation anxiety you can do things about it. You can start by telling him to sit, then saying a word like leave or gone and then go for like 5 minutes, 10 max, and then come back and don’t make a big deal out of it at first. Just come in and ignore him for 1 minute then pet him and give me a treat.

Is Rocco scared of getting his nails trimmed? My puppy is terrified and I have to take him to the vet every time they need trimmed, he has never had them cut too short so I don’t understand why he’s so terrified
