I must admit that I have never been particularly fond of social studies, civics, or civics literacy. In fact, I found most of the history-related subjects quite tedious and uninteresting. However, I recently had the opportunity to watch the short films "Pups of Liberty" during my free time, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them. The stories, particularly the one about Deborah Sampson, were captivating and thought-provoking. I found myself genuinely intrigued by the historical events and characters portrayed in the shorts. If my teachers had incorporated such engaging materials into our lessons, I believe I would have developed a greater appreciation for history.

These shorts make me want to learn more about our history. As an adult, I feel looking back to my childhood/teenagedom, I wasn’t taught as much in school, or I was having a hard time focusing because of things happening at home, and as a result didn’t get the best way to retain my history lessons. I love these shorts because it makes learning about the history so much more fun and meaningful in a way. When I have children, I’m showing them these shorts. They’re delightful!
