Nice video Ranjit. You covered most of the basic things to consider before buying AC. One other important point to consider is whether the evaporator and condenser coils are Gold Fin/ Blue Fin coated or not. These helps prevent them from rusting. Now a days star rating comes with Invertor AC's too. And it's always better to buy AC's from local dealers than online for better after sales service and installation.

we had bought a inverter AC(Daikin) about 2-3 years ago and we were really impressed by its performance. i absolutely agree with you about the constant temperature, but everyone doesn't like it, its personal choice . My dad still likes the regular AC in other room but i prefer the inverter one. We had seen a good difference in our power consumption , so when dad had to upgrade AC in our office he got inverter AC and the performance is really good and till date we don't have any complain.(the investment in inverter AC is really worth especially if you have heavy usage)

I own three AC's (2 Split and 1 Window). One of them is an LG Inverter AC. I think you missed a very important factor while determining which AC to buy and that is the Condenser Type. I would strongly recommend going with an AC that is having a Copper Condenser over an Aluminium Condenser. Both of my split ACs (LG and SAMSUNG) have Aluminium Condensers and they both leaked within 3-4 yrs. So always, always invest in an AC having a Copper Condenser. Apart from that, I completely agree to all your points.

Ranjit if you wanna buy your next AC then I would prefer you to go for Voltas or LG rather than Daikin, 'coz only these two brands uses BLDC inverter technology. There are 3 types of inverter ACs 1. AC inverter, 2. DC inverter and 3. BLDC inverter the 3rd one is the only one that consume less power than the other 2 types. Hope this information helps you a little bit.

Ranjit Kumar I am planning to purchase 2 ACs.. Almost every AC dealer I asked..they said dont buy inverter ACs .. because if something breaks down the repairing cost is very high about 10 to 12k... also atleast here in Mumbai the cost of Inverter AC is nearly double the cost of 5* Ac... 5* Ac is around 36k and inverter is 60k for a Mitsubishi Model.. I dont mind buying inverter AC but the repairing cost scares me.. Sir pls help if u have any info regarding this..
@geekyranjit
@geekyranjit 9 жыл бұрын
Mayur Chaudhari The cost difference is not that much for example the Daikin 1.5 T inverter a/c that I use is now available for just Rs 42K so just about Rs 6-7K price difference compared to 5 star a/c, problem is local a/c repair shops might not be able to repair inverter a/c but in the long term we would be seeing a lot more inverter a/c being sold coz of the better features and power savings.

Now day's some major A.C's Companies Are using Aluminium Coiling instead of Copper coiling , The only diff. between Al & Cu is that the life period of Cu is much better than Al and U won't face any such problems which u face in Al coiled A.C's .

hello everyone, as explained in the video first of all u should check these parameters before buying any airconditioners:_ 1)Power input -it should be low as possible 2) running current - same as above 3) noise level of indoor & outdoor- low 4) warranty -should be more 5) technology -either fixed speed or invert-er (in which compressor adjusts the frequency) 6) type of connection-single phase /3 phase -single phase consumes less current 7)ISEER(Indian Seasonal Energy efficiency Ratio- higher the ISEER more will be the saving around 3.86-4.18 8) and the most important service support.- 9) type of condenser -Bluefin/copper /aluminium -copper condenser is the best , because thermal conductivity of copper is more than aluminium , more the thermal conductivity more will be the heat transfer. for LG make split airconditioners power input is as follows 1) JS Q12 NPXA - 1100WATTS 1TON 2) JS Q18 NPXA -1760WATTS 1.5TON 3) JS Q24 NPXA-2090WATTS 2.0 TON

+srinivas.rao.l Sutrawe yes, ACs run on the same principal as refrigerator. more or less. ACs too shuts off when reach the set temp. but inverter ACs are more kind of variable capacity, they dont entirely shut off, they just run on low capacity after reaching temp. its much better than regular ACs.

After sales service depends on the city u live in. Personally I would suggest to go for daikin or carrier instead of blue star. What prices are you getting for 1.5 ton ac? I am also looking for AC right now. I was quoted 42000 for a Lloyd 1.5 inverter. That fits my budget. But don't have much info about Lloyd ACs. They also quoted 35.5k for a daikin 3star and 36.5k for a carrier 3 star. With installation. Might go with carrier one. Superia 18k.

Hi @geekyranjit Nice insights however don't agree with you on two points, you may want to check the facts beyond your personal usage experience, my understanding being 1. Inverter AC can go very low with power consumption as low as ~300 watts in steady state. Of course the catch is you get those figures only when you keep running the AC for a longer while. I think you did mention that it's wise to invest in inverter if running longer. 2. You can go for a smaller capacity inverter ac compared to conventional AC. This is simply because an inverter AC is always on, while running. Yes it will take a little longer (not noticeable in most cases) when it first starts up, but ideally you don't want to switch off an inverter AC because of point 1.

I am using Samsung Digital Inverter AC since last year, I think it consumes nearly 30% less than my previous conventional type of AC's. But it costs very high compare with conventional type AC. Nearly it costs upto 50k, where as other star AC's only costs upto 35k.

Rama Krishna But now I have seen the price of inverter a/c also go down and price difference is just Rs 7-9K and if you are a heavy user it does make a wise decision to use the inverter model as within a year you can recover the extra cost by the saving made in electricity bill, my office A/c is switched on almost 12-14 hrs / day and I noticed immediate reduction is electricity bill after I moved to the Inverter a/c.
