An important reminder! The process is simple (and free), but sometimes overlooked. An American friend with a citizenship-by-descent case (petition in Italian court) overlooked this detail until the point where his Italian lawyer filed the petition with the court. To expedite the application process, he then paid the lawyer a substantial amount to obtain CFs for all seven of the applicants in his case.

Very true!! Important to start the process before you get anything going in italy. I must say some Italian consulate take to long and they don’t even reply, leaving very little choice to someone in need 🙏

@@gloriapenny2323 you will definitely need to apply at the Italian consulate in France, which nationality you use it is irrelevant, the CF is based on your place and date of birth
