This was wonderful, beautiful color choices. Good tips. My plan is to make several temperature quilts in 2025. My three children live in three different states in the USA with various weather. I need to come up with an idea to bring out birthday blocks and have yet to determine size of blocks etc. this was a great tutorial giving my ideas as I’m planning colors right now. Your shopping template is perfect 🫶🏼 I look forward to watching the rest of your videos in this series.

👁👁 I've never done a temperature quilt. Just recently even heard about them. Went to the fabric store to pick out cloth. I found things I really liked. For instance, i picked out hot pepper cloth and flame cloth for really hot days. A plain white for freezing, and greys, darks and black for below freezing. The lady suggested that I wait for their sale since I was buying so much. We took pictures of the cloth and the ends of the bolts so it would be easy to find them again. I'm in USA so temps are in Fahrenheit.

I’m glad I found you. I’m getting a little bit obsessed with temperature projects. I’m almost finished on a quilt and blanket for this year and just started on a very bold and clashing quilt, started in September to finish on my 60th birthday. From your accent you sound like you’re not far from me in the Midlands. I’ll join the Facebook page, so hope to see your pattern and how you progress there.

🎈🎈🎈 Happy Birthday Rachel 🎈🎈🎈 heading over to FB to join your temperature quilt community page! This sounds like it’s going to be sooooo much fun! My biggest problem is I live on the Canadian border in New York State and or year round temperatures can vary from minus 20 degrees in the winter months and to 98 degrees summer!!! That’s a huge variable and purchase of fabric…not to mention organization! However…I’m up for the challenge! I think my color changes are going to to be an even 10 degrees which is twelve fabrics and two extras if it goes below -20 or above 100 degrees. I am planning on using triangle log cabins…paper pieced…with two rounds to represent the high and low for the day…and a dark blue for the background…those upside down triangles separating my colored triangles. So for the center of my colored triangles I will also use the dark blue so it will look they’re floating. It may not make sense in writing…but it makes sense in my head…😂 Anyway…wish me luck!

Thank you for your birthday wishes! Your quilt sounds amazing, you'll have to share your progress in the Facebook group. That I'd a big range, you could always convert it to Celsius and that will reduce the big range... I think 🤣 x

Rachel, I look forward to watching you progress through the year. I think this is a super fun idea. Unfortunately, I am unable to participate. Happy belated Birthday!

Good plan for your temperature quilt. I have just subscribed. I live near Vancouver BC 🇨🇦 and we get pretty hot in the summer, mid to high 30s. Winter temperatures are most often similar to yours unless we get a jet stream change and colder air comes in from Alberta. If I decide to do a temperature quilt sometime I’d go from -10 to 38, or something like that.

Happy birthday for last week, Rachel. Those birthday flowers are beautiful. I was thinking you could file a photo away of the flowers and sew something up using the colours of the flowers as a colour theme 😀 Love the fabrics you chose for your temperature quilt. 😁

2:50 now that you have purchased your fabrics. Enlarge this chart so that instead of a swipe of a marker, make that second column big enough to place a small scrap of fabric. (At the end you could use this scrap for your quilt label for the back of the quilt). 💖🌞🌵😷

Happy Birthday Rachel, your fabrics are beautiful. I think they will match very well in each temperature combination, as the most pick up colors from the others.

Gorgeous fabric, I had a few ideas for my fabric choices, I buy online and considered your advice on using something I would easily get more of if needed, I settled on John Louden Cloud , it is sold at a couple of places I buy from and it is nice to work with, and relatively inexpensive. I ordered 14 half metres I think maybe it was 15, really looking forward to this, thank you for organising it.

Just found your channel. Although I am late to this (being the end of February already), it is a great idea. Maybe next year. On another topic, how are fabric prices where you’re at? I can’t believe how expensive they’ve become. Looking forward to following along anyhow.
@stitchwithrachel10 ай бұрын
Next year is a great idea, I'll be keeping rhe Facebook group open so you'll still be able to join next year and view photos and chat etc. Oh gosh fabric prices are crazy! I rarely buy yardage, usually just fat quarter or scraps so this quilt was a shock for sure

It was wonderful to see your collection of fabrics for your temperature quilt. I did go to the Harrogate show, but my mind was confused about where to start with choosing mine. I think that the show wasn’t the best place, because there were too many distractions. Far better to go to an actual shop and take my time choosing.
@stitchwithrachel Жыл бұрын
Yeah the shows can be overwhelming if you are looking for something in particular, but I hope you had a great time and made plenty of other purchases
