A soul will go through countless lifetimes to achieve the perfection in devotion and/or being one with the SuperSoul. I humbly feel that Saint Rumi transcends all. These gems remind me of Saint Kabirdas.

Rumi was also a healer that used music and sound to cure both psychological and physical illnesses. Rumi was also the founder of the Melevi Dervishes, better known as the Whirling Dervishes. His poetry is sublime.

Words of realized souls are not easy to comprehend. Unless we take initiation from a perfect master of the current times, we would never be able to understand their core. I will try to explain with the grace of my perfect master. In the first few lines - Rumi is talking of absolute freedom, devoid of duality and elements. I circle within the nine spheres - meaning I used to live within the shackles of nine doors of my body. If we count from top to bottom each one has nine such doors. I lived by his side, meaning God's creation, initially, he gave me everything, but slowly I became a prisoner in this form (meaning in this human body). I came in this world by making a promise to God that I would love thy even in this birth, however, came blood and tears meaning - I was trapped by materialism, ego, and other vices. People think they are born once, but they are here so many times - This is the clearest explanation of our original form being light (soul) and that we come again and again in different births (reincarnation, a concept that till today many in select religions don't believe in). I have changed countless bodies, meaning various births (trapped into a circle of life and death). Ascetics in deserts (referring to being a Muslim), sleeping at feet of idols (referring to being a Hindu or Buddhist), Rumi is talking of the fact that the religions that we take birth into are also not constant or same every time. Then rejecting all elements even human forms, RUMI declares that he is simply pure light. Look again if you see me, it's not me you have seen - HERE is the essence of entire poetry, when we see a human, we say clay formed structure, we aren't that, declares Rumi. Secondly, and most importantly, we can't see LIGHT through these two physical eyes (what we see is/are objects and beings within the light, we don't see light in a vacuum or in an absolute sense). A divine eye is bestowed upon by a perfect master, through which we can see light within our own selves. That experience is itself called, seeing God and beginning a journey towards becoming one with God.

@@mylife8792 In my opinion, the nine spheres means the the Moon, Sun, Mars, Venus, Earth, Jupiter, and 3 more planets that were known to Sufis at that time. Rumi means that before he was born in his body (''came to THIS world''), he was in a heaven- type place (''I lived in HIS world''). When he said he ''circled with the nine spheres'', it is like he was in orbit amongst the planets in space. :-)

Asiece Yousaf I am what cannot be born. I am what never dies. In my immutable silence I reach out this offering, Affectionate and undivided; Listening, not imagining. Even the flights of fancy Are observed In this; Only this Is known. Gladly, I disappear Into a great and blissful Silence where no words Can even begin to express. This love untouched, Yet made visible Without intent. Gladly, I embrace this Empty vessel speaking Through me And yet not me. The only moment is this; Wondrous Like the sun Rising in the dawn sky. This cycle I was left fatherless and after my father died came a bunch of iniquity in my life was torment but it could’ve been much worse I just imagine if I had a good father with me my whole life. I had my chance while I was in prison and I still messed up because I was not in the word my light went dark I didn’t even know it, if I could just be reborn with a good family and a father to raise me. Or just be an orphan things would’ve been much different

Please know there are always opportunities for change, life is a challenge and we all do what we can with what we have. Mistakes are made but this is how we know there is a better way. Three quotes I have used in my life: "It seemed like a good idea at the time.", "Trouble came to pass, it didn't come to stay.", and "Heaven allows us to make mistakes but does not forgive us doing nothing." I pray and hope you will find Love, Peace, and Joy. As above, contact me if you'd like.
