Guessing for me being a 17 HCP the Hot Metals are better suited. Tried the T150 yesterday and as above think I need to try the T200. Albeit when I got my swing on point was getting a nice draw on the flight. Finding looking for the right club like choosing a car!

Great review! Just played with the 241’s and i have to say these are probably the best Mizunos yet! I havent played for several months and first iron was 155 dead on the stick. Misssed a couple but still finished Even for The day. Im 70 and very good iron player. With the 241’s, knock downs and baby cuts were easy. Why would you want to hit a PW 150 yard!? 😊

Hello - thank you for the review. Would love to see if you still have the MP-25 heads and your opinion on the head comparison. They look practically identical to the 243. I bought the MP-25 in March 2016 and been trying to replace them. Hopefully in 8 years, they have improved the technology, lol. I bought the MP-223 last year but returned it b/c I didn't like the feel. I am about to do a fitting for the new MP-24x (likely 243) and the pro/fitter was commenting that it looks practically the same as my MP-25s.

Same boat here, I saw these and thought the same as my mp25. I hit the Titleist t200 and loved them, now down the rabbit hole trying to stick with Mizuno.

I love these clubs after one round in a hitting bay. Hit the green almost every shot with a 7 iron and flag at 150 and ball stopped almost instantly. But should i be buying them if I shoot in the mid 80's and I swing a 7 iron in the mid 80's mph?

Bought a used set of 223 irons a month ago and agree that they look great and have enough forgiveness. I prefer the loft gaps in the 223 over the 243 in the higher lofted clubs.
@lkae49 ай бұрын
Not sold on the forgiveness of hollow irons like P770 or 225 vs cavity irons. I think 243, T150 and Blueprint S will be the top players distance irons for 2024. Edel SMS Pro is a beast but it doesn't offer much for distance.

Get exactly the same about p770s over 223’s. Love my 223s although I feel like I could game the 5’s from 7-4iron for extra distance and forgiveness.

Thanks for the review Michael. Nice set of clubs but also more expensive than the previous iteration at about £1400 for 6 irons they should be good! Specs for the 245 much the same as my JPX919s, so food for thought. With regards to the metrics nothing too surprising with spin rate, distance, etc, except the landing angle at 48.9 degrees was exactly the same for all three clubs despite them having different peak heights - is that odd or what?
@buaya1119 ай бұрын
here in indonesia sell for like usd 990
@DanB-9 ай бұрын
Not really, the different amount of spin on each will hold them in the air longer/shorted so even though they all get to the same peak height, they get there different ways and times and then fall in different ways to.

@perrycpga5 ай бұрын
Michael, Your consistent ball striking, and small variance in club head speed reveals something greater here. An important aspect that often gets overlooked when we talk about golf clubs: the relationship between loft numbers and what's going on inside the club. While it might seem like these irons only differ by 2 degrees in loft, there's a whole lot more going on under the hood. Think about it like this: if Mizuno made the loft of the 245 the same as the 241 blade, it might be too tough to play with because of how high it launches and how much it spins. But by tweaking the materials, technology, and construction, they've managed to dial in the loft just right for a balance of power and control. They almost match spin, and launch windows exactly. Back in the day, loft numbers were a big deal because they told you how strong the club was. But nowadays, with all the multi-material tech, it's not that simple. These irons are a perfect example of that-they're not just about having strong lofts; they're about Mizuno's smart engineering to make them perform at their best. So while it's true the 245's have strong lofts, it's important to see the bigger picture. They're a testament to how far golf club design has come-a mix of innovation and performance that goes beyond just the numbers. jp

Your 7i swing speed is at 94. Peak height at 113. Landing angle at 50. All of these contribute to stopping power on the greens. What about the average golfer with an 80-85mph swing speed on their 7? Will these still be a good option?
@Andy-on7ym7 ай бұрын
I was fitted into 245s this week… avrg 85mph ss 7 iron getting peak height 90-100 and land angle of 44-46 (plenty of stopping power unless you play on rock hard glassy greens). Spin is lower due to 30° loft (around 5k.. off a mat though rather than grass) but certainly not silly low. 👍

I'm a huge mizuno iron fan and have played Mp30s since I started, (3-pw) and i would absolutely love the 243s but looking at the ridiculous prices they charge now, and the 3&4 irons being an extra expense as well I will continue to play the Mp30s until I can no longer play as I don't think that £1800+ for 3-pw is VFM WHAT SO EVER (4.5 times what I paid for my Mp30s) just like £500+ for a driver isn't VFM. Manufacturers are too greedy.

I have the 225 and recently tested them vs 245. The difference was the extra weight tungsten below. The 245 hits a higher ball by 10%. Thin shots are slightly better. I already hid the 225’s real high so…no changes for me..Same basic club…

Question is are they worth $1,600 to replace my 225s which are still in great shape. Opinions? I do hit mine very well and have no issue getting enough height in the 4-7 iron. Play off a .5-2 handicap but prefer the confidence the “player distance” irons provide.

Hard to give up 7mph of ball speed. Note the descent angle on all 3. I often wish the testers would actually try and work the ball both left and right in these tests. I mean they all use 'workability' as part of the description but nobody ever actually tests this. Presumably not everybody is always wanting to hit it straight?
