I have a 2011 GV8 and one of the first mods I put on was a Cobb stage 1+ SF intake. This was about 7 years ago but getting rid of the OEM intake with the silencer made all the difference in sound. I could actually hear the recirc now. So that first drive after installing it had me smiling the entire time. I also was building boost so I could hear it for a few weeks after of course lol

Really cool video! Especially the comparison between stock, silencer delete, and Cobb intake. How did you up the engine bay mic and keep it secured?

Used a small lavalier microphone with a clip, attached it to some metal, easy! I've linked to similar mic's I've used in the description of this video. Glad to hear you found it helpful, thanks for the comment 😀 Cheers

Is the Cobb access port required with the intake or is that of your own doing?

A mixed answer, you'll need to have your car tuned once you fit this part. The Cobb Accessport offers an easy way to tune your car with an off-the-shelf flash tune that keeps it easy. Otherwise there are other options with or without an accessport, such as professional dyno tuning. Hope that helps, Cheers!

Have you tune your car after this intake was installed ? Or just ots map tune from access port will do the work ? Thanks

Have just done the OTS map from the accessport for now. Once I collect a couple more parts I’ll fit them and have a proper dyno tune done.

@@BenCad I still struggle on which cold air intake should I go , any recommendations? I have a wrx 2015

is that a dry intake or oiled?

It's oiled, but i would say 'lightly oiled' as you can't really feel it very much.

Yup! Haven't added any mods to it in a while, I've been stuck in the struggle-mindset to keep it, or sell & upgrade to a JL since covid-pricing is coming way down now. That said, might be uploading a new 4x4 trip video I recently did though soon!
