Burong isda/kanin (fermented rice/fish) there are only two provinces here in the Philippines who makes this, Pampanga and Nueva Ecija.. they do it differently but Nueca Ecija i think has a the better version.. Burong mustasa (pickeled mustard greens) almost like kimchi without the spice.. Bibingkang Abnoy ( an omelet with an extra kick) it is a delicacy in Pateros and Laguna Generation nowadays barely knows these fermented side dishes.. Even Manileños are intimidated to try em..

I like her reaction every time the guide reveals what the meat is made of. My son is in college and he has an American classmate that he hangs around with all the time. When my son introduces him to a street food he would always say "Just eat it...I will explain what it is later.." Last I heard he doesn't trust my son anymore when it comes to food XD

Kudos to you guys for being willing to step out of your comfort zone and try food that most foreigners will avoid. More power to your channel.✨ Most foreigners can’t get past the visual aspect of the balut. If they were blindfolded, I doubt they would be so repulsive. Fun fact: balut originated from China which also explains why other countries like Vietnam have it.

My favorite street food when I still lived there was fishball which we buy from actual street peddler who has a cooking pushcart on the street. I also liked steamed fresh corn on the cob with husks, but I always check first the corn, I prefer sweet yellow corn, there is a variety that is rather sticky. Both of you are commendable for trying out the grilled chicken/pork innards. I never got the guts to try them hehe..there is another one I often see sold on the street, the chicken feet, which is fondly called adidas, simply because it is the actual feet of the chicken. I remember those grilled chicken innards was called betamax, which is just a coined word referring to 'bituka nang manok'. I have never tried balut either hehe I just prefer salted egg which you can easily get in supermarkets or wet markets often eggshell is colored dark pink to red. I would eat it with diced tomatoes and may serve as side dish along with my main meal. Usually expect to have any fried fish as its tandem.

So proud of Angela, isaw and stomach, and balut (lots of salt🤣)!! 👏👏👏😁 I don't get Asia's facination with cheese on everything. My favorite is an Ensamada, but in the Philippines they come topped with cheese! Yucky. I like the butter/sugar ones, but they are harder to find. I can get balut in SF area. Large Filipino population. Tastes great. I've been to the Philippines years ago, now I want to go back to do this food tour! Great vid! I'm like Geoff, I'll eat anything, Andrew Zimmern has nothing on me! 😁

I actually like the cheesy ensaymada's. And Angela did great with everything. It was only the thought of the Balut that made her stop eating it, not the flavour. Very happy to see you have stuck around for the next round of adventures. Thank you so much

The most common cheese in the Philippines is the cheddar cheese, and filipinos fell in love with it. We have it with almost anything edible. We even flavored ice cream with cheddar cheese. While the Philippines have artisan cheese, we are again into cottage cheese carabao milk, goat cheese(thats feta cheese I think) and mozzarella is also produced here. Like chocolate we are making strides to produce them.

Balut is one of the most fave streetfood. It won't be a favorite if it taste disgusting. The trick part in eating balut is ask the balut vendor to give you a few days old duck embryo, then when eating, don't bite parts of it but swallow the whole hahaha. Salute to foreigners who tried eating balut.

One thing I miss about the Philippines (after moving out abroad) is the volume of noise. It's just calming for me. The sound of the vehicles mixed with the barking of the dogs, the karaoke from a few houses away, the rumbling mumble of people talking, the random rooster crowing, the occasional shouting and the total sounds of everything going on just calms my mind. Here in the UK, it's too sterile, unless you're with other Filipinos, nope.
