Morocco is a wonderful country. The food, the weather, the mountains, the sea, the desert, the tradition and most importantly the people are second to none. I love this exotic country and it’s people. One day, I am going to partially live there.

Pastries in Morocco have no French influence it's the other way around. Almost all the Pastries you can find in modern day Morocco can be found in cook books dating back to the 1200s and 1300s. The same goes for the traditional moroccan dishes like pastilla which was first mentioned in the 1200s and was exported to moroccan Spain (al andalous) where it was then made using seafood. The new seafood version was brought back to Morocco when the moors (Muslims and jews) were chased out of Spain after the reconquista in the 1400s.

Thanks so much for the additional context John, that is really interesting. We were going by what we were told, but now I'm going to look into this and learn some more. The history in this region of the mixing and influencing of cultures is so fascinating, isn't it?

@@PureDetour even if you only start from when morocco was first established as an independent country in the 6th century, you can read some incredible stories. Let alone if you go back to the 7th century A.D with the Maures who built their capital where the Romans built volubilis and where a roman emperor was later born. Volubilis (walili) is an ancient city near the city of moulay Idriss zerhoun (built by the first king of morocco in the 6th century). It is all intertwined in a mysterious way. Enjoy your trip in Morocco, it's a very fascinating and ancient country.

Interesting videos but you are giving a wrong image of Morocco. What you show is just a small side of Morocco and Moroccans. I , as a Moroccan see what you filmed for the first time. The biggest side is life in cities where we drive in big roads, live in high building apartments and go shopping in malls. We work in offices, banks, etc.
