I have a good friend from Escanaba Michigan who is a professional lumberjack, and owner/emcee of The Great Lakes Timber Show. They travel around the US to festivals and fairs, and do shows of the old ways: crosscut sawyers, axe throwing, log rolling, standing and underhand block chop, and more. If they are ever in your area, I highly recommend that you catch their show. Tell Bruce that Bill Harper sent ya! Some of his team members are world champion choppers, log rollers, and more. You would be in AWE!

Not a bad video at all very enjoyable. I would like to ask was there ever a video talking about the purchase of the Airplane. I saw the one discussing looking at Airplanes, but unless I totally missed have not seen regarding the actual purchase or "hey we bought an Airplane". Although that is obvious by now.
@wallykramer75665 жыл бұрын
There was a video about "we are sure glad we didn't buy this other airplane". They must have bought this one just after that.

There was a couple of videos about the airplane purchase and the journey up to that purchase. It was a few months back, but is pretty easy to find. If you can't find it let me know and I'll send you a link. I'm not affiliated with this channel other than being a fan like yourself.

Yes.. I missed that airplane purchase announcement too. These folks have announced every other purchase why not an airplane? I really have no problem with the purchase. They have worked hard and sacrificed a lot.

Just a quick note. My wife and I have your same seat cushions and used them the same as you are in the plane. It was later pointed out to us we were using them incorrectly. The curve in the pad goes the other way, it's for your tailbone comfort to prevent soreness. Just saying :-)))

I was a Member of a Rescue Organisation and We had a Saw similar to that. One Day I was talking to My Father about it and he volunteered to Sharpen it. We actually used it on a few Operations afterwards and it cut beautifully. I left that Rescue Unit in 1998, but I believe they still have that Saw.

For whoever might be interested. I have three cross cut saws that I would be willing to allow to be used for training on sharpening, as long as I get them back after the class is over. Hopefully this could be done somewhere in Western Oregon so delivery and pickup of these three blades could be done by driving (sorry no flying for me!) If there is any interest, just reply here and in a few days I will respond.

Seeing the Twin Otter brings back memories. I went on a tour at the smoke jumpers' training facility at the Redding, California Airport many years ago, and we got to tour the Twin Otter that they used there. And what a beautiful flight! In the Tom Wolf boot "The Right Stuff" he talks about Pilot Voice. It is a voice that most North American pilots seam to develop from listening to to other pilots talk. It is calm, clear, and easy to understand over the radio. Thanks Chuck for yet another contribution to aviation.
